Utah Raptors based on the fossils found in the area. Named after an actual dinosaur, solid name, could be a great logo. Slam dunk choice.

Those logos look like the teams I created in NHL 99 as a kid — like the Las Vegas Rattlers 😂😂

A bee themed logo makes sense given their state flag. But, I believe their Venom trademark was denied and Charlotte has Sting and Swarm as names for their WNBA and G-League teams. So, not sure they'd get trademarks for those either if they tried.

Aside from Stingers, Bees, Wasps, not sure what other bee named options there are for them.

Getting harder and harder to find a good team name.
Utah HC was a fine name, people meme it but they just needed a better logo and some better marketing. I hate the colours, looks like a derivative of the Kraken. The owner is also incredibly cringe, I get he's trying and everything but sheesh.

My prince…

On a more serious note: Millsy spreading his wings in NY and Cythil flying here because he’s still adapting to our system should speak volumes about the inferiority of our system and coaching decisions.

This is a prime example of confirmation bias.

The stimuli: both players are starting well in their new digs.

Your assessment: Miller got away from our bad coach and Chytil hasn't been affected by our bad coach yet.

A prime example of shaping the results to your pre-conceived opinion.
i knew utah were going to be a clown show because of ryan smith's past work in a field i'm intimately familiar with but i didn't think they'd screw up branding this bad
Can you go into more detail? I know nothing of Smith's past.

i was an associate at a vc firm when SAP were trying to get out of their qualtrics purchase. i was part of the team that did diligence and while i'm not gonna reveal details i was not left with a high opinion of ryan smith. i wouldn't let him manage a lemonade stand. SAP couldn't find anyone stupid enough to buy them out and SAP and smith would "part ways" shortly thereafter. he ended up buying it back from SAP a couple years later with help from silver lake who i also have a very low opinion of for separate reasons

I appreciate the insight, thanks.

I have people in my life who have had close contact with Aquillini and I won't go into details (and don't know a ton) but have heard the interpersonal dysfunction was unconscionable.

It's incredible the virtue people imbue upon the extremely wealthy.

The truth is, being a billionaire is literally a mental illness. Like being 700 lbs or having sex with 10,000 people.

Being overweight or having had sex with 100 people is one thing. Just like being 'wealthy' is one thing.

But hoarding incomprehensible amounts of money is literally illness for a human being while watching everyone else suffer.

To quote an old viral tweet "if one monkey hoarded thousands of bananas while other monkeys starved we would study it to find out what was wrong with it. With humans we put them on the cover of Forbes'.

Definitely should be more.

10 games is the minimum, but in my opinion it does not show that the league is ready to eliminate this kind of scumbag move.
10 is alright. I also think it's a warning shot. Something like this happens again (and probably will) and he's looking at 15 minimum which really starts to hurt the ol' pocketbook.

yeah i'm nowhere near a billionaire but i had some interactions with a few because i did well enough cofounding a couple startups that i got access to the silicon valley venture capital world and the disconnect from reality is incredible. the weird stuff you actually hear about is only the tip of the iceburg when it comes to the ultra rich. half of them literally think they were divinely chosen to save humanity
