Need to find a way to steal Sergachev and Johnson from those filthy cheating Lightning. Then work a deal for Konecny and Ghost. Then throw a pile of cash at Brandon Saad. Love his game and he works his ass off every shift, great leader too, he's been a total force this post season. Anything to give this team's "culture" a swift kick in the ass. He'd be a great winger for Byfield.

Kempe - Kopitar - Konecny
Saad - Byfield - Brown
Kaliyev - Vilardi - Johnson

Gostisbehere - Doughty
Sergachev - Roy

I want them to change the culture before adding a star from the outside. They also need to see what they have in prospects as their higher end guys are teenagers. Is Eichel a culture changer or is he a great player on a bad team?

Amen. Honestly, at this point, I'd ice 12 Brendan Lemieuxs next year before trading for 'more talent.'

7 goals in 9 playoff games for Saad. He’d look good in Kings colors.

He's a guy I think would come here too due to familiarity with the past, but he worried me as a UFA before too, strikes me as a 20-20 guy with the Kings. But I guess that's not all bad.

Were there some people that wanted Graves? I hope they watched tonight’s game and decide against it.

Even Seattle ripped up their expansion draft board tonight

All these suggested moves just move us closer to black hole territory. I don't see the point.

Doughty does.

The 4 have their Cups, they just want to play in a single game that has any meaning again. The young guys have time to worry about Cups later.

Most likely an older guy like Nick Foligno if you overpay on avg.

If Willie Mitchell, who hadn't won anything, and coming off a concussion, was worth getting for 2 years at 33, to keep the Kings in the black hole, which is where they were in 10-11, then go out and get Foligno.

Lemieux sure provided a great spark down the stretch right? Guy is overrated, deal made/makes no sense.

Cheap depth for the expansion draft. Either he gets taken, or is the replacement for whoever else gets taken.

By himself, he's not a difference maker either way. He is what he is. You find the right role and line for him. If the team is better, you might be able to squeeze something out of him. A couple extra PIMs like the Rangers got.

Doughty can't win either way with this forum. When he says he still has the competitive fire to want to win he is excoriated by the tanksters. If he had said he was fine with the direction of the team and just wanted to play out his contract and live at the beach he'd be excoriated by all the other fans (and the tanksters as well just because).

why pay an asset for that though, especially in an ED draft year.

I think it's just the frustration since 2014. Winning cures everything. Every stage of competitiveness decreases the amount of nit picking. If you're a bottom of the league team, all anyone has is nit picking. Every little move that is or isn't made. Should've done this is that other thing instead of what was done, because like potential, you can make the unknown result better than the known one. Assuming it's a bad result. If it's a good result, it was obviously the right move to make.

Don't disagree. The only thing I would say is that the one thing that should never be nit picked is a player who still has the fire to want to win. Once you nit pick that, it's over.

100% on board with Tarasenko. 7.5 mil cap hit is reasonable and only has 2 years left. Cost might not be as high seeing that there is only 2 years left on his deal and his recent injury…

You get a 25 year old instead of a 29 year old that way? I don't know. They still have 8 picks in a 7 rd draft. They still have a 4th rd pick, 5 spots below the pick traded for Lemieux. They have 1000 prospects as it is.

Not saying it's a trade that had to be done, but the odds of anyone caring about the trade in a few years is low. They likely won't miss on anyone better than Lemieux. The asset probably wouldn't be used to get anyone more proven than Lemieux.

Given Blues cap issues, the fact he has injury history, and he seems to constantly be mentioned as on the way out should all lower his cost.

B prospect and a conditional 2nd that could be a 3rd

I don't think anyone doesn't like the fire, but where was it in 2018? How does Doughty not get that team moving before they're 30th overall in late January 2019 and trading his best d-partner?

The only issue would seem to be a full NTC.

That is a question that will linger forever and everyone in the organization should be held accountable. The issue now is trying to find guys who want to win and are talented enough to do so. That combination is still in very short supply in the organization. Doughty is one of the few who has it though.
