I don't trade for ANY of those guys who are gonna be UFAs shortly, especially with the rumors surrounding them (ie Werenski wanting to go home to Det) and our inability to sign key UFAs. That would be poor asset management.

Werenski is RFA in 22-23. Have a few years to sell him in L.A. We also heard Drew was going to Toronto and look what happened.

If I am the Kings and Blake, I make a run at Nylander. Leafs need some reasonably priced D and some draft picks back. They also need some bottom 6 grit. These are all things Kings have a ton of.

Leafs won’t move Nylander, they’ll try to dump Marner. I’d be interested in Hyman, fits a need and doesn’t cost any assets.

Phillip Danault had a heck of a series shutting down Austin Matthews. It doesn’t up on the score sheet, but it was masterful.

He got himself a raise in free agency.

he is one of the most underrated defensive centers. He had already rumored to turn down a 6x6 offer from Montreal, so he is looking to get paid (I would do the same).
I think Calgary is a good fit with Sutter. Move out Monahan for a RW and bring in Danault.

Would love to get Werenski

yep. Fits every need we have back there. Big, mobile, great shot and can pump goals in on the PP.

What I want is Werenski and Landeskog. I know Landeskog is a pipe dream but would love a skilled hardnose player up front.

what we will get will be Kessel and a vet Left shot Dman and told that Clague looks ready to take the next step

I think Schwartz makes sense as a UFA.

I agree on Landeskog. Would be an unreal get, but I agree it will not happen.

After the poor effort last night, Toronto is going to have to blow things up. Talk about a lack of character and desire. I would say only Matthews and possibly Tavares are off the table. With their cap situation being what it is, they almost have to move Marner. Any interest?

he is an unique talent. He would cost a ton. The Tavares blow was huge to that team. Losing Muzzin didn’t help. Not going to go with the masses and blame everything on Marner and Matthew’s. Would take either one in a heartbeat.

The leafs need to take a deep breath, sit on this loss for week or two and then look at their team.

The thing they are missing most, IMO, is a shit disturber. Someone who when the energy is stale gets things going.

None whatsoever.

There are a lot of ways to produce goals without spending $11 million per year on a soft perimeter player who is a proven playoff failure. He can't handle pressure. No, thanks.

Come on, he was right in the middle of the ice when he shot the puck over the glass in game 6... :biglaugh:

A detroit poster just said that they could see Bertuzzi being moved. Not sure what his contract demands would be (he is a RFA), but I hope Blake checks in on that.

What they are missing is a guy who wants to win so badly that he will force others to elevate their game. Guys like that are hard to find.

ya that is fair to say too. I think Muzzin is that for them, but they need one of their top guys doing that.

Let's be honest the Leafs are missing Dmen that can make breakout passes.

They also have very little impact from anyone on their roster who wasn't a lottery pick.

It's like the Edmonton Oilers all over again lol.

I think Fox mentioned him a couple months ago as well in an offhand manner.

wonder what Detroit would want and also what Bertuzzi wants in a contract

Is Madden, Wagner, Stl 2nd too much?

Madden and 2nd feels like a fair bit IMO. Wagner is there to help ED.

Leafs need to fix their depth issue up front and get a good RH shot on the PP. They brought in grit but sacrificed speed. They looked slow with Foligno, Spezza, Thornton, and Simmonds out there. They need a guy like Blake Coleman, Casey Cizikas, etc. that forecheck with speed and grit.

Lots of ways to produce goals? Apparently not for the Kings.

Those are the GF since the last cup.

This organization hasn't been able to find skilled players for the past 15 years. The two best forwards this year have been with the organization since 2003 and 2005.

It's not like they can just sign a few veteran generic 2nd liners and solve the problem.

I do remember when Yzerman was written off, but damn even the Wings fans waited until he was nearing 30 to call for his head after 1995. Crazy how a player at 24 can be completely written off. He's 2 years younger than Matt Roy who you said you thought was an untouchable player on the Kings.
