My opinion, but with the glut of vets and journeymen, every line should be able to accommodate at least one rookie.

With everyone healthy, I'd like to see something along the lines of:
Arvidsson - Kopitar - Kaliyev
Iafallo - Danault - Vilardi
Kempe - Kupari - Athanasiou
Lemieux - Byfield - Moore/Andersson/Brown

Id be a little worried about that 3rd line. Kempe and AA scare me in their own zone.

I seem to recall that is what the Golden Age Colorado Avalanche did that with Chris Drury, Milan Hejduk and Alex Tanguay. I remember admiring that. They gave those guys the best opportunity to develop and succeed.

I agree. The only issue is that we just have too many forwards, a couple are gonna have to go.

Kaliyev - Kopitar - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Danault - Vilardi
Kempe - Kupari - Brown
Lemieux - JAD - Moore

That leaves out Lizotte, Andersson, Grundstrom, and Athanasiou. What about when Byfield is back? Does Turcotte get a shot this year?

If we need to tighten up with five or ten minutes left in the game, you can always consolidate and roll three lines.

Arvidson Kopi Brown
Iaffalo Danault Vilardi
Kempe Byfield AA
Lemieux Kupari Moore
Andersson
Lizotte

Kaliyev and JAD help the reign win a cup. Up permanently next year.

JAD? Dude hasn't played even a minute for the Kings this year, and you have him pushing guys out? Kaliyev is in, but AA is out? Kaliyev has 5pts in 13GP, AA has 5 in 4. Vilardi was playing himself out of the lineup before covid.

The most likely scenario, as it's the easiest one, with the fewest variables to account for, is that the guys who don't have to pass through waivers will be sent down. That's it.

AA isn’t long for this team. There is no need to develop him. He’s traceable.

Kempe--Kopitar--Arvidsson

Andersson--Kupari--Vilardi

Grundstrum, Lizotte

Send Kaliyev down to see what Vilardi can do at wing and if he struggles. Drop Vilardi down to AHL and then you can bring up Kaliyev or Byfield or Turcotte. Use the 3rd line to bring in the youth because you have 3 lines that can cover them or rotate in.

If the Kings remain in the playoff race, and AA continues to score, maybe not a ppg pace, but something decent, he's not going to be traded.
He's in a contract year, so he has every incentive to produce.

I get the impression he wants to be here. If he plays well, and is willing to sign a reasonable contract, I think the Kings will re-sign him.

I think he would sign with anyone if they gave him a good rate and term... I get the sense that he is using the Kings as much as they are using him and is just trying to showcase himself in every game and get every point he can to try and garner the attention from anyone, be that LA or any other team in the league. I'm sure he likes the weather and lifestyle, but he needs more stability and security and is looking to stick in the NHL. He is going to be shopping hard this upcoming free agency for a long-term spot.

Anytime I try and make up my own lines Brown always ruins the flow. Love him but he can't cut it in the NHL, once he's gone I think Andersson takes his place and role.

I don't know.

He has sort of an enigmatic personality. When he doesn't want to be somewhere, it shows on the ice.

In 19/20 you could clearly see he didn't want to be where he was. He wasn't showcasing himself to get another contract, that's for sure.
