Boise? Ooookay then.

Didn’t care for Boise when I was passing through but went to visit friends in Driggs years ago and it was absolutely gorgeous.

It very nearly happened. Came down to the local arena upgrades that Boise couldn't round up in time to beat out Palm Springs.

Boise is legit. Actually spend some time there and you'll see why everybody is moving there.

And nothing really compares to the beauty of Driggs... when you can see the Tetons from any point in the Valley...

Start getting your popcorn ready now if Philly hires Torts and then the much rumoured Gaudreau signing happens in the offseason.

Torts is a fantastic coach... he'd do really well in Philly and bring them back into the playoffs. His message will wear thin after about 5 seasons, but his teams will make the playoffs in 4 of those and advance at least once.

The whole skill player thing with Torts is a myth. St Louis loved playing under him.

That's one guy and MSL was more than just a skill player. There's nothing in Torts and Gaudreau's history that suggests that'll be a good pairing. No coach has time for players who don't give a **** defensively but some are better at hiding it than others or can at least play the politics game when it's a star player. Torts never has and never will play that game. That doesn't mean he's not a good coach either.

I don't think defensively is the key. He got along just fine with prime Gaborik who only cared about scoring goals. Panarin was also great under him. Saad is solid to good defensively, he just gives incredibly inconsistent effort... he was terrible under Torts.

Players who can take no nonsense, no fluff coaching do very well with Torts. Ones who need coddled or special treatment fail miserably. He's a straight forward coach.

Now Gaudreau could fail under the coddled treatment needed, but here's my counter point. We are seeing Gaudreau have his best season not only in the regular season, but in the playoffs as well... and it is coming under a coach cut from the very same cloth in Sutter. Sutter isn't as extreme as Torts, but they are along the same lines.

I don't think Sutter and Torts are that similar. Sutter never raises his voice. In fact, it seems like he rarely talks to them at all. Torts isn't capable of speaking to his players without yelling at them.

Sutter is the straight forward no nonsense type. Torts is just an asshole.

We know Tortorella is a really good coach. At least for a little while. Problem is that he wears out his welcome with players pretty quick. Lots of old-school types do that.

Frankly I have no issue whatsoever with Philly getting him. They already committed to being a mediocre crash-and-bang team with no real discernible plan in place, in all honesty Torts is the only real option. A rebuilding team I would absolutely NOT hire Torts for. But a team that's underachieved for at least two seasons now with veteran talent throughout the lineup? Oh yeah, that's a Torts team. Let him have it. When the time inevitably comes where the Flyers either have to admit they have to go full rebuild or they still want to buy/trade their way out of trouble, they're going to fire Torts either way.

The bolded is always Philly's problem. They should be committing to a rebuild right now. Not hiring Torts and trying to hang on as a bubble cinderella team. That's just gonna delay the inevitable.

Torts would probably have a bigger impact on a new team if his predecessors weren't Vigneault & Therrien.

More of the same for the players.

The closest they came to "committing" to a rebuild was when Hextall was there, and even he didn't really go full teardown.

But really it's pretty much too late to blow it up again. The minute they decided to go the meathead route again and give f***ing Ristolainen a massive extension, they set their path.

It's fine, really, I enjoy the drama Philly provides every season. They ain't my team, let 'em keep trying to buy their way out of trouble. Let 'em bring Torts back so he can bitch and moan his way through press conferences.

Was this posted anywhere? Some serious stuff here and many current NHLers were in that team.

According to the lawsuit, the players directed her to fondle her genitals, and perform oral sex on them. The players also allegedly straddled the plaintiff while placing their genitals in her face, slapped the plaintiff on her buttocks, spat on her, ejaculated in and on her, engaged in vaginal intercourse with her, pressured her from leaving the room when she tried to, and engaged in other sexual activities with her.

“The plaintiff has been required to undergo medical treatment and psychological counselling and will continue to require same indefinitely throughout her lifetime,” the claim said.

Nothing like avoiding justice for literal gang rape because you're a top hockey prospect. Sickening. The names need to be brought to light.
