I really really want Timmins to come out and say at the end....Since the talent was horrible in the Q this year, we decided to look elsewhere.

Except that it's not, we've got a good overall year for the Q as far as talent goes, our scouting staff just likes other players better. There are players like Desroches that might be invited to teams' camps if they remain undrafted and might even get signed if they play well.

The reality of it is that we've got a head scout that's been very high on Minnesota's high-school league for years, with little results might I add. He's also a fan of american players and likes his prospects that go the NCAA way and the WHL. I'm not surprised in the slightest that we got a lot of players from those leagues.

Given what Timmins has done the last three years with our picks, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a lot of those picks.

Hopefully Guhle, Tuch, Mysak, Smith, Biondi, Farrell, Dobes, Gordin and our seventh-round pick is a good crop and we get a few strong NHLers out of the lot, that's really all we can wish for.
