Trade Georgiev for a 2nd and we’ll have probably the 3rd highest pick value going into the draft.
Where did you see this? Been looking for teams with highest pick values in draft.
Thought since we won the lottery we would be 2nd or third. Obviously Ottawa has a ton of picks

So I had way too much stupid fun last night messing around with trades and trying to work the system. Even found a path to Lundell in their "system". Some of my favorites:

Surprisingly the guy I have had the hardest time getting (within reason) with the Carolina pick has been Guhle

It's not up-to-date, but you can usually find some geek on Public Tableau every year who has something like this.

Montreal moved way down. The basement teams like Ottawa and Detroit took hits. We might actually be 2nd already. No way to compete with Ottawa thought.

Whats the story with Reid Valade?

I see a kid with really good wheels and a really high motor who probably doesn't have the hands or offensive IQ to be a top forward on a top contending team, but who does have the attributes of a kid a who could fill a middle six or bottom six role.

When I see him, I see the same type of long-term investment and possibilities I did with guys like Hagelin and Fast.

Yeah I would say Montreal will drop. We should over take devils as well. probably 2nd or third. Ottawa still has some very nice picks.
Thanks

@Edge You know what really grinds my gears? The small group of people on the general forums or other teams' that think we'd stay at 1 and NOT take Laf. I don't know why they don't realize the choice is Laf vs the off chance a monster trade offer came in. It's not Laf vs a single other player.

The "Rangers will draft Byfield" is just wishful thinking from people who don't want the Rangers to get the best prospect in the draft, rather than it being based on anything substantial. Ignore and move on ;)

True, but it just irks me that people can believe that. lol

Seth Jarvis or an equivalent sniper RW in the late first would be a really nice get.

Just taking a quick look at various mock draft sites and rankings with the Rangers first round. Obviously Lafreniere is a given, but some interesting names associated with the Canes picks. Some haven't been updated yet. When in doubt, I am listing the 24th ranked player. Some more than others:

DraftSite.com - Ridly Greig

MyNHLdraft.com - Kaiden Guhle

Tankathon.com - Jan Mysak

BleacherReport.com - Kaiden Guhle

TheSportsBank.net - Rodion Amirov

TheHockeyWriters.com - Justin Barron

NBCsports.com - Justin Barron

SportingNews.com - Jan Mysak

CSB NA - Ty Smilanic

ISS - Ponomarev

Elite Prospects - Peterka

Future Considerations - Foerster

TSN/Button - Kaiden Guhle

ESPN - Brendan Brisson

McKenzie Rankings - Ridly Greig

McKeen's - Ridly Greig

So, for those keeping score: Greig (3); Guhle (3), Barron (2); Mysak (2); and everyone else with 1.
