This team has a lot of tunnel vision forward's, there isnt much creativity at all. It is why the PP is pretty stinky and 5 on 5 offense is mainly off the cycle. A throwback of 00's hockey.

Yep, high end skills seem lacking this year.
It's a good team, may even win gold but no superstars out there.

This team is already down Veleno and Lafreniere and your solution is to put Hayton on a checking line? Good stuff.
If you actually understood the game you would see he wont move the puck. Whether its because he has no hockey sense or he feels pressure to do more than he is capable of I am not sure but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. At this point waching him in back to back tournaments its the same issue going on 8 games. This team is filled with players that can score, he hasnt created offense unless its an indvidual effort. He renders his linemates innefective so yes putting him in a shut down role is an attempted solution to get him away from a pressure situation that he feels like he has to produce which perhaps will result in Hayton using his linemates.

The wrong players are playing center is one of the issues. The players that distribute the puck at high speeds are all on the wing for the most part. But yes youre right most forwards on this team are most productive in that style of game. Thats why Cozens looked instantly better playing with Foudy and Dellandrea.

If Laf plays id go with this lineup. Id try Mercer with veleno to see if they can rekindle chemistry if not id move Lavoie up as he has proven he can play with Laf.

Lafrenier Veleno Mercer/Lavoie
Mcmichael Byfield Thomas
Foote Hayton Dudas
Foudy Dellandrea Cozens
Lavoie/Mercer

If something catastrophic ( have no idea if I am close on spelling)is going to happen today McIsaac will be involved
I have zero confidence in him.
I still want to see Veleno do something that gives me the warm and fuzzies.
Also more from Byfield and Cozens
A great team effort in a 4 -2 win would make me happy

Obviously the hope for today is a win, but I'd really like to see one forward line step up offensively. This team needs a go to forward or forward pair outside of Lafreniere that can consistently be a threat. Foudy has been good but that isn't his game and doesn't need to be.

Also looking to see the D settle down and play calm and responsible.

It’s hard to know what to say after that period.
Glad to see Veleno stepping up
I don’t think Byfield has it,
How can Lavoie be so bad, I said he should have been cut
Congrats to the team, top spot looking at Slovaks
Happy new year all

If you actually understood the game, you’d see that Hayton is the best Center on the team. He needs to be in an offensive, primetime role.

Luckily the coach agrees with me and disagrees with you, and the results are a dominant game by Hayton so far. Good stuff.

Hayton is wildly underrated as a prospect. For some reason, he's never had any buzz but he's going to be a #1 NHL center. His hands and vision are unreal, reminds me of Krejci.

He is a real talent. I’ve been a supporter since day one, though it took a while for some on here to see it.
