Gotta love the celebration out of the Austrians after scoring finally

So happy Austria scored so I don't feel as bad about Askarov potentially doing worse than his backup.

Edit: I gave the Perfetti points to the wrong team and fixed that.

My finns are the bane of my existence. I was really hoping Jarventie would be doing what Hirvonen does.

Where was Aatu going?

I was going to take him early until I realized he wasnt playing.

I was going to take him also. Think they had enough depth apparently from finland staff. His bro can hockey too.(took him last year)

My worst possible decision was Heinola over Stutzle.

I thought "oh Germany will be in tough" and forgot that it's you know, Stutzle.

The swing there changed me being in the mix to win vs maybe being last - I was debating those two for a good while.

Can we get some betting on this thread? Like some hf 3:1 odds or avatar bets or something? I don’t want to draft anyone but I’d be game for some friendly competition. Like some 45 day avatar bets that team leftover won’t end up last this year. Anyone interested?

Also to get ahead of the question that will occur...

Wallstedt's OT loss means 0 points per Cerebral's rules - you only get the bonus 1 if it's a shootout loss.

EDIT: Fixed a Cerebral extra point I gave him earlier by accident.

Man, this is going to be right down to the wire. Amirov coming in clutch with 3 more points to make this a 2 point match between Cerebral, Bardown, and I. Canada vs Finland and USA vs Sweden is going to be huge tomorrow.

If the US wins they take first and play the Slovaks, if they lose they get the loser of Finland vs Canada.

If the game goes to Overtime, regardless of the outcome the Russians take first, the Swedes take 2nd, and the US takes 3rd.

Germany is always a question mark. While Stutzle and JJ are great young players, typically when it comes to German players they benefit best from having the relegation games (like Bokk did for me last year). Great way to pad their stats. The fact that there are 3 german players in the top 5 for points is wild. They will probably get only 1 more game unless they can upset Sweden or Russia in the Quarters.

After all the uproar from the media after their loss to Canada that didn’t take their situation into account at all I’d love nothing more than to see Germany pull the huge upset and make it to the semis. It was awful seeing those guys get piled onto about not deserving to be in the tournament and stuff when they were playing back to back with a short handed lineup.

That would cause havoc on our pool, but it would make for a great story. People love a good story, and who has a better story than Germany of Covid?
