Woof. This game is about as brutal on the pool as that CAN/GER slaughter.

I hate you Cam York.

Some terrible hockey this year. Teams are getting farther separation instead of closer to parity.

Not having a top pick this year sucks - Zegras/Cozens both absolutely wrecking and leading the 1st and 2nd squads.

You have to bury that Holloway... I need the Byram points.

Nice hit.

When your guy gets one point finally after seemingly a large drought of nothing for any of your guys and now you're only 300 back

I blame canada management. Garand should be the starter haha. ... and they cut my sleeper pick Adam Beckman.

I have to blame someone :( haha

Askarov not starting vs Austria so my first rounder will end up as a worse pick than his backup.

3-man race to win the pool and basically it's Canada vs USA - with Cerebral also having Sweden. Going to need big upsets or a miracle for Cerebral not to take it - THC has the best shot with the States.

Pick of the draft is fairly easily going to be Devon Levi.

Cerebral picked the right horse and he got slept on for a few rounds.

As I was tracking your guys' picks I thought that Levi pick was a sneaky good pick as I thought he would surprise as the starter. Cerebral, Bobo, and you picked the teams I liked the best with Head Crusher just behind.

I think your team is definitely underperforming relative to expectations thus far. Still not even half way through so there's time to catch up. Unfortunately in a short tournament you've gotta have some luck to win a pool.

The Russians have really disappointed - even with the win over the States. They'll need to beat Austria + Sweden back-to-back to replenish some points and Askarov then needs some SOs. Supreme longshot.

What I underestimated - that BarDown + Cerebral properly estimated - is that I thought Canada would win games 6-1 vs the inferior opponents...not 10-0 and 16-2. They just absolutely stomp. If I had a higher pick, I'd have taken Cozens or Zegras over Dach - my list had it Cozens, Zegras, Dach in that order - but we all should have been as high as possible on Krebs, Perfetti, Quinn, Newhook and even Tomasino/Mercer just as much as the 5 guys that went round one.

BarDown and I are battling it our right now for second, both at 33 after 1 period of Russia vs Austria.

Amirov - 1G, 1A
Podkolzin 2G, 1A

An upset of Canada or the US in the Quarters could settle it.

Mercer was the 13th forward until Dach's injury, and we had no clue what ice time each line was going to get. Some reports had players like Newhook, Tomasino playing as low as 3 or 4th lines. Which given that Canada was in the weaker division they still could put up points in the 16-2 blowouts. The problem is they could also get shutout of ice time, especially if they didn't play on the powerplay. Take a look at the 3rd period US vs Czech game. The Czechs took multiple penalties an gave up 3 PP goals. For A good chunk of that 3d period the US's 3rd and 4th lines saw little to no ice time.
