30 teams will regret not pursuing Laine when it's all said and done. I think he's the best pure shooter in the NHL and looking at what ails Boston the most this season (goal-scoring), he would of been a big help here. Even more-so if we factor in Pasta seems like he's playing hurt and it's impacting his one-timers so he's gone more playmaker.
We could use Pastas goal scoring, but his play making has been terrific, and thankfully someone like Geekie, is taking advantage of it.

Washington has had a turnaround year and PLD is 4th on the team in points. He’s been a key contributor to their resurgence.

I just see the teams on ice shooting percentage when he is out there blowing his career norms away and wonder how many of those helpers are sustainable. Paying 8.5 for a 60 point player is meh. Paying 8.5 for a 50 point player would make folks who complain about Coyle’s contract brain explode.

Edit: to put it another way, PLDs on ice shooting percentage at 5 on 5 is about what Lindholm’s was in his crazy year and PLDs career norms aren’t anything special just like Lindholm’s aren’t.

Kreider a scratch tonight....
Trade possibility: Kreider to Boston and Frederic to Washington, plus other considerations involving money and players to conclude a deal.

The forward lines (assuming no call-ups):

Kreider - Zacha - Pastrnak
Marchand - E. Lindholm - Coyle
Keopke - Geekie - Wahlstrom/Brazeau
Beecher - Kastelic - McLaughlin

Took Lindholm and Zadarov about 2 months but they are settling in quite well since Sacco Took over

Sitting directly of the net I had a fantastic view of the 5 minute kill and the way they played the box was text book.

It was like art watching it.

Zadarov playing like this is fantastic.

Elias Lindholm does so much that doesn’t show up on the scoresheet - we were talking about how well he is skating and looks like he belongs after that kill

under Sacco they are on a 118 point pace in 16 games a 20 % season

Takes time to get acclimated and work people in

Robertson 7 goals 33 games
Stanhoven 4 goals 31 games
Johnston 6 goals 33 games

17 goals 97 games

Robertson must be a complete bust for $8 M

Should we see if a change of scenery works

Maybe Kells gets ahold of him turns him around
Robeterson makes me nervous. He is one of the slowest players in the entire league. He only has 3 speed bursts over 20mph this year and Maroon has 1.

If we think Brazeau/Wahlstrom is slow then we havent' seen anything yet.

Not sure if thats the direction we should be going in. We need more speed and scoring off the rush.

boxing out on a pk is not coach-specific, text book as you say - so I'm not convinced there's a correlation to Sacco taking over

regardless, they ARE playing much better and you can't not associate that in general on some level to the change

It was a small sample size but Marchand - Lindholm - Coyle actually works, I never thought you'd be successful using Coyle on the wing but here we are, time will tell but I'll gladly eat that crow.
Marchand and Lindholm have been cooking lately and they could use some of that to get Coyle going. Thought he had a rough start and it looked like Sacco was giving it to him a bit on the bench after an ugly turnover. He certainly stepped up after though.

Best period of hockey from Coyle all season. Let's hope it works, the first two periods he was dreadful.

Lindy is finding his game and Brad looks to be back over the last few weeks.

Coaching is like parenting - constantly reminding of specifics, installing structure, and building trust

We all think differently - I see this differently as you but the beauty of free will we can both think we are right and be happy lol

Loving this line. The Geek has arrived! Looking so good on that first line. He’s been fantastic. For the first time in long time the first 2 lines are a threat. Add Poitras to 3rd line C and let’s rock.

Koepke Poitras Brazeau
McMuffin/Wally Kast Beach

Let’s not forget the bruins have a Lindholm incoming soon.

I would make it around Carlo when Lindholm returns. Kreider and Othmann coming back. Add Lysell and have Rangers retain salary on Kreider.
Kreider-Zacha-Pastrnak
Marchand-Lindholm-Coyle
Frederic-Geekie-Brazeau
Othmann-Kastelic-Wahlstrom
Beecher/Koepke

That should be enough offense to do some damage in the playoffs if Swayman gets his act together.

I was kind of tongue in cheek to all the Bruins fans who look at Bruins through only stats and nothing else

However, my daughter lives in Austin a quick drive to Texas Stars and has picked Stars as her second fav team / I like them anyways so I’m a Stars guy

I think they are the best organization right now but they are still not getting it done - kind of the Western Conference Bruins which not surprising with Nill running them

Robertson should be crushing it and you raise great point and big surprise to me about the bursts

I’m rooting for them - getting beat by Rangers was not good

Looking forward to Andrew Peeke 1PK and shutdown pair. What could go wrong?

He has had a good season on the Wild at RW, its not foreign to him.

Actually you swung me over to your side with that first sentence to be honest lol
Haha I made a ton of mistakes - I learned what works and doesn’t sometimes the hard way on everything from raising kids to cooking steak.

Sacco Bruins are definitely more structured and following plan

Monty a very nice person and excellent coach especially at college level - I was very impressed with many of his insights and explanations

They weren’t responding unfortunately

I also think his family missed St Louis and were realizing the pressure that comes with being the Boston Bruins coach

You win not much is said about you - you lose a few and make a mistake the majority of fans and media want you fired

well, never be afraid to share those trailblazing mistakes in the parenting realm - actually, in all realms

my 7 month old just headbutted me in the mouth as i typed this, for example - i've taken weaker right hands in junior B

I like the idea of Kreider but I wonder if he's damaged goods. Apparently he's been telling interested teams of an undisclosed injury he's been trying to play thru. I think the Rangers might be holding out for a Rick Nash like deal for him but if he truly is hurt, that might effect the price.
