Already done for the season, save a big trade.

NHL and the kings are for entertainment.

I’m not entertained, im annoyed by the same complacency and effort.

As a life long fan and 12 year sth, ive never been more bored by this consistent nonsense. Even them early 2000s.

See you next year.
I think the Ducks are looking for some fans.

You expect him to say we're looking for another low pick this season? If course the KINGS expect to make the playoffs, I'd be upset with anything less.

But anyone not affiliated with the Kings saying they see them in a playoff picture this season? There are literally hundreds of analysts to choose from.

The analysts don't compose the roster or deploy the players to meet the expectations/goals. I'm not going to blame beat writers for what management is doing to meet their own goals.

Todd McClellan, all the players, the whole organziation expects to compete for a playoff spot. They've all said so in training camp interviews.

Ok, we're in agreement that beat writers are not to blame.

I've been watching this team a long time and I think I have managed my expectations very well. This was not expected to be a very good team by just about anyone.

We almost sweep the first two against a playoff team. I expect us to handle Ana, SJ, AZ, and a quarter to half of the rest of the games. That puts us in a playoff spot or at least a bubble team. I think it's just knee jerk reactions to the Kings blowing late game leads. The ability to close out games will come with time as this team figures out how good it is. With the addition of Byfield, Turcotte into this team, we are dangerous. I definitely see a difference in how this team has played so far this season compared to last season. We will be fine.

I invite many of you to check out some of the people on this board that quit on this team at certain points of the 2012 and 2014 seasons, myself included.

The ones who expect to make the playoffs are poorly meeting their own goals is not the point? I'm sorry?
No. It wasn't the point I was making.

My point was that nobody outside Kings management and beat writing expect this team to sniff the playoffs.

Its the overwhelming opinion around the league. You can't expect TM or RB to give you an unbiased opinion and I'd be disappointed if they were publicly saying anything less.

Some people expect them to do a better job managing the organization to meet their goals.

And it's been transparent they were contending for a top-five pick last year, so it's not like it's an annual goal.

I understand the point you are making but it is only deflecting from mine.

Besides, it's only 2 games in. Not nearly enough time to give a fair evaluation of anything.

I'm not doom and gloom over their play in just two games, I'm just saying that the whole organization expects them to compete for a playoff spot. The point about finding someone that isn't a Kings beat writer that expects them to make the playoffs is arbitrary - no one would pick them even if they were expected to be a good team coming into this season.

You brought up analysts when I was telling Bandit how the Kings weren't meeting expectations. So, I'm sorry, but you're throwing red herrings out if you want to mention how I'm deflecting from your point.

A team who has expectations to make the playoffs, has a roster composed primarily of vets and journeymen, and blows two 3-1 leads in two straight games deserves to be called out for failing to meet their previously stated goals.

If you want to chime in how no analysts expected them to make the playoffs, and thus you don't expect better from them, then great.

But these are mistakes made by a young team who loses their composure.

This. The point that is trying to be made is irrelevant to the missed opportunity (again) that everyone else is trying to explain.

Stop assuming we arent kings fans, doom and gloom, etc. because of poor coaching and game mismanagement.. it is just setting us up for the same preventable situation as last season. That’s the point.

I’m personally mad because other than Marner, Kopitar leads the league in forwards on TOI.

Fair enough guys. I understand the coaching frustration and I share it.
