OK, as pathetic as these two games were they still managed to have two goal leads late in the game. The problem I see is the defense is just too undersized. Maata has good size but he just isn't that good and McDermid doesn't play much.

I know there are a lot more observant hockey minds here than me but I really don't think it's as bad as it looks right now. A bounce here or there we're 2-0 to start the season. Still 7-0-2 in last 9.

These two sting but lessons will be learned.

We played good. I'm satisfied with the two results. I see progress and that's a postive for me. Their breakouts are better. The pp needs help, but the pk is fire. Not bad at all. We just need more energy and everything will be fine. Would like to see Vilardi in more plays, he kind of seems like a statue. But I think it'll all work out.

I understand the long layoff, I understand trying to get your feet back under you, I understand you have to rebuild chemistry, I understand you refamiliarize the system. But losing a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period TWICE in a row, is unacceptable. You have to put teams away. It seems like the Wild knew what they had to do. Kings didn't and now their competition for the last playoff spot is already in jeopardy 2 games into the season.
