Yeah, just grinds my gears that it took those numbers getting pushed on air before a lot of folks noticed.

There just isn't much calm or control on this roster, and I'll be damned if a single one of the defensemen currently on this ice feels comfortable enough to try and hold up play at the top of the circles. Its just a panicked escort service straight to the high danger areas.

Roy just does everything "right", and that level of competence makes the game easier for everyone else. There ain't much being done right without him.

look no further than the Norris discussion for an example of the level of depth of d-man discussions anywhere haha.

Points, plus minus, be on a good team. Play that makes life easier for everyone else isn't sexy enough.

see i'm cool with accepting poor play from the rookies and depth players, i have a major issue with the $10M men stinking up the joint night after night after night. they don't get to take nights off for that kind of money. i'm sorry. if they try their damndest and it's not enough because of depth players, fine.

top line has been effective tonight, they're getting a pass so far. doughty has been a mixed bag

This is part of the issue with bringing a bunch of kids up at the same time: when someone has a bad game, there's nowhere for them to hide. Anderson looks bad. Well, this is the best team in the league. But who else can we play more? MacDermid? Maatta?

This has to be one of the youngest rosters the Kings have iced in quite a while. 3 of our D have 26 games combined, and MacD is the 4th against a fast team. Not sure how anyone can be surprised by the score.

Offensively they haven't looked terrible.

Aaaaand mid-post we get MacDermid making a special play, flat-footed at the blue line against a team that could lap him in race.
