My line of business is working in the M&E industry and Sinclair is one of our clients. I can tell you they are an antiquated organization and have a tough corporate culture.

I would expect very little from them as a Kings fan ever.

Yup - agreed. It is hard to listen to Faust. I like Jim Fox because of his history with the Kings, but he gets annoying at times as well. I usually watch the games with low volume.

Yeah, that is my biggest issue, the broadcast actually diminishes my enjoyment of watching these games.

Last couple of games I have watched the Blues and Wild broadcasts. The blues was really good.

The Blues were really good and the Wild was fun as well. One thing I noticed is that they both seem to be broadcasting to hockey fans, they showed out of town highlights and discussed the game at a more in depth level. The Kings broadcast seems to be targeted at something else and I'm not quite sure what it is. I like Stoll, but he is the only part of the production that I can stand at this point.

Other than the carriage problems....

To someone who doesn't have cable, that's everything though. I keep following the FSW streaming channel around and now the last option is gone. So no Kings games for me.
And i'm not interested in anything on reddit....nor something called a VPN. I want to turn on my TV, use my remote to turn to the game and watch the Kings game....and for kids to get off my freaking lawn!

At&t's streaming service has the games

It is rather ridiculous the Fox Sports Network can't cut deals with Fubotv, YouTubeTV, Sling, etc. Fox Sports Network almost as dumb as the Pac-12 Network.

I guess it depends on how much influence they have over the production. There have been some pretty stupid intermission segments the last few seasons.
I can’t watch the intermission segments. They’re terrible. I always just mute the TV

I find myself muting the actual game lol. Not because I don't Faust, I don't mind him. I find it more relaxing to watch with the sound off, or near off sometimes. I have PTSD, maybe that has something to do with it haha.

I have YTTV because I find paying $100+ is obnoxious. Though, it's creeping up that way. Watched the last game using a friends DirectTV account #, but on my phone. Not great, but I was able to watch some. The NHL should figure out how to do their own subscription plan for games and cut out the Regional players all together. Invest in it and they will come. But greed powers most, so it's unlikely.

I've been a subscriber for YTTV from almost the beginning and it's saved me a ton of money over the years. I won't move from it because I've given a stream to my retired Mom to save her a cable bill and it took her awhile to learn how to use it. I hope that Bally ends up back on the service, but who knows. I've been forced to find alternate means of streaming the games and so far, so good.

I agree with the intermission stuff on Fox being difficult to watch. I do like Army and Stoll discussing the game, but I could care less about Twitter or meme stuff during intermission. Save that stuff for the weekly program. I actually think this years call of the games has been better than the last couple of years. My only issue and its neither Faust or Fox's fault is having them call away games remotely. NBCSN is doing the same it seems and behind the play or out of the camera angle stuff isn't brought to the viewers attention because they are essentially watching along with you.

honestly when army hops in, i start listening

really like that dude, he actually seems like a genuine personality instead of a tv personality

The broadcast will be more tolerable as the on-ice product becomes more tolerable. That said, we lost Jim Fox to rampant homerism about ten years ago and it doesn't look like he will ever recover.

It sucks because Fox is knowledgable and has the franchise history and I'm maybe the only one who feels this way but Faust has a lot of potential and is absolutely excellent otherwise--but together they're the Muzzin-Martinez of broadcasting. Fox has become Hayward, remove him from a homer broadcast and I'm sure he'd be great. And Faust has to play off that. But I think more than them--the entire telecast has become VERY patronizing and it seems like they're trying TOO hard to appeal to 2014-and-newer as well as younger fans. That in and of itself is smart, but don't act like no one has watched hockey before when you have fans of decades sitting there sifting through dog photos to get to roster info.

patronizing is a really good way of putting it

constantly seems like they're treating us like idiots or making jokes at our expense

this, I feel like the Kings intermission is basically just watching a group of friends talk to one another and pimp their podcasts . Also Bark Madness is the dumbest thing of all time

heh, pretty accurate too, it's like watching the cool kids table laughing at the plebs surrounding them
