No thank you, I owuld rather it be Kupari, Madden, Kaliyev, Thomas, Fagemo, or Turcotte.
It's gotta be Kaliyev, right? He has five more games in the NHL before burning a year of his ELC. 5 points in his last 5 games in ONT.

I lean towards Thomas if it was down to those two. Not that Arty isn't deserving, but the more youngsters who get to see what a pro does on a daily basis, the better. I would be fine with Turcotte too.

I'm sure they see them quite a bit as they share a facility, but the immersion is always better.

It would be nice to see what they have with Turcotte. His career so far has been a roller coaster. It gets a bit more magnified when you look at some other key picks in that draft like Zegras, Caulfield and Cozens who were all available at that pick looking like more than belong early on.

Turcotte was the right pick at that spot. He just needs to stay healthy and make a jump.

I really hope you are right. I liked the puck at the time but I would be lying if I said I didn’t have red flags around how he has progressed.

I know I'm a huge homer when it comes to being protective of Turcotte, but I do truly feel that he'd actually look better in the NHL than he does in the AHL.

Note that's probably not better for his development as in his case I want his size and strength to come so he can play 'his game' as well as dominate offensively.

I am hoping Kaliyev gets the call. In my mind Byfield, Kaliyev and Faber have had the most growth since the beginning of the season. Faber cannot be called up, Byfield is up and I think Kaliyev has made even more strides since his 1 game call up earlier. The kid is just doing everything asked of him. I am scared if Turcotte gets called up and hit it could be catastrophic. Give home the summer to get thicker and stronger.

If it is based on merit, it should be Kaliyev or Kupari again.

Byfield performed and got the call. Kupari was performing earlier on and got the call. Even Kaliyev's one game was kind of a surprise call-up after he performed well in Ontario's pre-season schedule.

Turcotte doesn't "deserve" it compared to AK and RK but I understand if they want to get him a taste since he's higher pedigree and the other two got some NHL action already. Kaliyev only got one game and it was an abomination against one of the worst teams in the league so it wasn't that much of a taste.

Darkhorse would be Moverare if we are talking about merit. Basically at a half point per game and has mostly looked the part.

With nothing but pure garbage time ahead, I don't know of it will do more harm than good to bring up a kid to play what is likely to be apathetic hockey.

I actually agree with using that spot on Imama. He's been a good soldier and isn't likely to ever see the NHL. Give him a good lifelong memory for all the punches he has thrown and taken for the team.

when you put it that way it even pulls at my heart strings. At least he would stand up for his teammates.

Definitely think the Turcotte or Thomas should get the call up. Let them get a taste of the NHL to see how far they need to go to be NHL ready. They can use the offseason to train.

Is this really the taste you want in their mouths all summer? Its practically beer league stuff out there right now. Disorganized, apathetic, passionless. I don't know if this is how you reward a kid. A month ago? Sure. Now though?

And look at how #16 OA Alex Newhook has taken to the AHL....

8 games, 5 goals, 4 assists, 9 pts. C'mon, Alex...Turcotte, that is!

I don't see it as a "here's your reward" type of promotion. I see it as "this is where you are now. This is where the level of competition at the NHL level is."

It's like a ride at Disneyland. Instead of "you must be this tall to ride", it's "you must be this strong and think this quick against the opposition to play."

How they train in the offseason in response should prepare them for the next leg for them.

I was team "don't use it" but that's a perfect idea.

Yeah. I didn't want to rain on the "Byfield looks good" parade but the games against the Ducks looked like Reign games. Pleased to see him look decent last night against a team that had something to play for.

If we went with the one most deserving I think it has to go to Kaliyev. He has been really showing that he is ready to step up. If they are looking at merit he is the no-brainer answer.

If we went with who the Kings need the most I think the answer is Turcotte. They need a lot more heart and a spark right now to get going and at least finish the year strong. That matters. It was only last season we saw them put together that win streak and find success at the end and that little bit of success at the end of last season literally flowed until like a handful of games this year...

The play I would be most interested to see up with the Kings though is Thomas. He is the one I am wondering about the most assessment-wise. He is a player that I am skeptical of more even though I am one of his bigger fans. I think he has a skill set that is best suited for the top 6, but I question if he has the ability and the upside to stick there.
