Upgrade over who? We have no LD that can play on the PP, we have no LD man that can move or pass the puck out of our zone. We need a Clague type of d man and we are going to lose him. We got no LD ready to step up and provide some offense after him. If it is a money issue then let's forget the big name UFAs and 10 million$ center from the Sabres as well.

last I checked, which was 5 seconds ago Fluery has 2 goals and an assist in 44 games this year. He is 24 years old and scored under 30 points total in over 2 full seasons. He has size but so did Forbort

Ghost could not tell you who his goalie is on any given night because he never got that close to him. He is an offensive, undersized guy who lost his offense for a long period. He is on a hefty contract for a few more years. We have an undersized defensive core as it is. He is not the answer.

It "amazes you" that in a field of 31 GMs you can name a few that have made good trades? Careful what you wish for. For every "good trade" you can name there's a Milbury or a Chiarelli waiting in the wings. Welcome to life.

In before “it’s not my job to find that guy” and he brings up some random 4th liner like Stephenson.

All of my posts and arguments are based upon Blake's own goal of competing for the playoffs in 21-22. I don't see how the team does that without going outside the organization to improve the team. If you can tell me how the team competes for the playoffs next year with their current organizational depth, I'm all ears to listen.

Same way that Stephenson was a magic solution for Vegas: blind luck.

Got the same reactions when we traded for that injured William's guy. BTW Ghost has 2 pts tonight and 19 pts this season. He would be 2nd in scoring on the Kings D men. Pair him with Doughty and he is 40+ pts D man. Another name to watch is Will Butcher. But since we don't have any Pro scouts, I know we'll just trade for Dahlin and we'll be all set for the cup.:thumbu:

It’s risky to mortgage assets that you haven’t viewed much. Sure they may improve but they likely won’t make them contenders unless you believe they want to milk the last of the vets on the roster. That seems shortsighted and I don’t think they’re ready for that. I see more of a couple fillers but we will see what management is thinking. They are in excellent position cap wise and full of assets while not being in a bad spot for expansion. UFA isn’t much of an option at this point.

I think if he makes it to free agency Ryan Nuget Hopkins is the player we should target. He can play 2 c until one of the kids step up and take it. When they do he can play lw on a line with kopitar or the kid that takes over from him.

Yea he’s going to get a big contract and I doubt he puts up as many points away from the EDM PP. Every move has its risks though.

I never said he would be cheap however all he would cost is cap space. Any other move would cost assets which could turn around and bite us in the butt. As far as points go i have been a king fan long enough to expect a point drop from any new player.

Why are some many guys so uptight about making the playoffs?
Sure, it would be nice and a great experience for the kids but would that change anything?
If we do grab the 4th seed we would face off against Vegas and would most likely be eliminated in 5 games or less.
I think it is much better grooming the kids properly and missing the playoffs one more season instead of some flash in the pan success.
Rebuilding is about becoming a legit Stanley Cup contender and not to make the playoffs ASAP. If the teams is not ready give it more time to grow

Yup! I remember when the Kings had Gudas in camp and could of given him his first pro contract. But for some reason the Kings didn't think he was worth a contract. Then the following season Hextall leaves the Kings, takes over in Philly, and one of the first transactions he makes is to sign Gudas. It was a weird outcome. He definitely would of been a fan favorite here.

You mean back in 2009 or something? He was drafted by TB in 2010, and signed that summer. He was drafted at 20, so a lot of people passed on him, many times.

But at least Gudas is a new name to talk about in relation to how bad the Kings are and have been at getting talent, even back in DL's day.

I don't think the Kings could have signed him, as he was still a draft-eligible European

For a second, I thought we might be talking about a new cheese and wine concession at Staples Center.

Danault would cost a lot but I think he would be worth it. He would take defensive pressure off of Kopitar and Byfield while being able to pitch in a little offense. It's highly unlikely though but I'd prefer him over any other UFA center.

My bad. My memory was way off, as he didn't join the Flyers until 2015, and in a trade.

Anyone up for Boko Imama to be the final call up of the season? This is his 4th year in the AHL. He's put in his time, and think the Kings can really use his play. And he scored his 7th goal on Sunday. To me it makes too much sense for it to happen.

I could see him and Hall trying to be a package deal ala Kariya and Teemu to colorado or Suter and Parise to the Wild.

he is very underrated, but I do not think the Kings should go after a center.

I think Calgary should go all out for him though

I remember when he was invited in camp, didnt know he couldn't be signed tho

No thank you, I owuld rather it be Kupari, Madden, Kaliyev, Thomas, Fagemo, or Turcotte.

I hear what you are saying about the skilled players. Still, I'd like to see Boko and see what he has.
