WC: 2019 US Roster Discussion

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I'm not used to good news like this in this tournament. How am I supposed to react??

(I'm not surprised he's considering though. The exact things he calls out are the things he's been vocal about regarding his experience last tournament. Hard to pass up the same opportunity again. The young players for this team - confirmed and potential - must be excited.)

Kaner could be just saying the right things, he said similar comments like this when he didn't come after the 2016-17 season ended...which he regretted of course.

He has nothing left to prove, he came last year and did the best he could - but the one comment I absolutely loved from Kane was "the US has yet to win at this tournament"...this is exactly who Kane is. he loves to play the game and he loves to win. the fact that he even said this shows his competitive nature and his love for not only playing for his country but helping them finally win it.

If I take what he said to heart, and he is truly rested and good to go health wise next month, I would suggest he is going to play because the dude just loves to play hockey.

Obviously Eichel and Keller need to be here, probably the top 2 guys available outside of Larkin who are young enough and did not come last year. If this group can land as you suggested Kane, Eichel, Larkin and Keller then this team has a serious shot at a Gold if we of course can land a NHL goalie lol.

we started off pretty good last year as well with some top names accepting - then it dwindled down and got weak...only to then be surprised when Lee and Atkinson were on the roster yet no noise from either of them accepting..in fact Lee was thought to be out because he was getting married.

Saad got married last year, so hopefully he is sick of his wife already like the rest of us (I kid, I kid) and plays this year with his fellow Hawks forwards.
 
I honestly don't want Kane there I think he needs a break plus I don't see why he would go to this scrub tournament in Slovakia even though he is patriotic.
Eichel and Larkin should go, I would like to see Greenway and Colin White go too.
