I hope Vatrano won't be 13th Forward whole tourney, he has been great this season, he would be treat to watch for me.

Jones and Atkinson seem like the most likely adds as Jones has represented this country many times, is good friends with many of the guys here and we desperately need a top RD. Atkinson is also a natural RW which we are a bit short on...stacked at LW, but Kane and Vatrano are the pure legit RWs we have...Atkinson would be our #2 RW here (Keller was a center who transitioned to wing, if Atkinson comes maybe Keller could play some center as well)..

Atkinson came last year, seems to love playing with Kane and Larkin, as long as both are healthy I can't see either saying no IMO....but we say that all the time so there is that lol...

Keller-Eichel-Kane line is really promising and Hughes looked pretty decent in his first period at this level. Pretty horrible period overall but it is not suprising. I think JvR-Hughes-Vatrano could be good line. Glendening should be extra but i guess there is big possibility that Blashill is wasting Vatrano in this tournament. Maybe JvR can create some space for youngster.

Pretty sloppy first period, especially defensively, although it's not really unexpected. They've had two practices and are just getting their legs back against a team on home ice that's been preparing for this tournament for quite awhile. It's easy to forget how European teams prepare for this tournament versus how North American teams do; it's really something.

Offensively there's been some nice chemistry on some of the lines, particularly the Eichel and Hughes lines. I'm sure the lines will change up a bit nonetheless. The 4th line, which should end up as a pretty good line, had a really bad period with turnovers and getting pinned in their own zone. That line needs to be one that wears on the opposition with a forechecking barrage and a lot of cycling and grunt work in the offensive zone.

First goal Schneider gave up was pretty weak.

Frank Vatrano took a shift on D. That was the highlight for me.

The Keller-Eichel-Kane line got victimized on both goals. Jack needs to get in gear.

And as I say they, he runs his forward faceoff win play and feeds Keller for the tying goal. Of course. :biglaugh:

No they didn't. The 4th line (Ryan - Glendening - White) was on for the first goal. Eichel's line was on for the 2nd goal but it was Keller that didn't keep up with his man on the backcheck and his guy scored. Eichel looks pretty dialed in to me.

I'm not hear to banter Jack Hughes but, damn.... he looks horrible out there, like fish out of water.
I know i know, its only 1 game and its his debut vs men but still... holy hanna!.

Better period. Still sloppy with their defensive lanes but that's going to take all tournament for them to adjust and even then you're going to have those mistakes on unfamiliar ice. They really cleaned up the turnovers that period.

In the offensive zone, they need to cut back on the 80+ foot cross ice passes. I know that it seems like an option but when the puck is going that far, it's easy for the opposition to react and pick it off. This always plagues North American teams on the big ice.

PK looks good. It would nice to see some PP time just for the practice but I doubt they're going to get many, if any, calls in Germany against Germany.

German goalie made some big saves in that period.

That Keller - Eichel - Kane line sure is going to be fun to watch. Eichel in particular looks dialed in.
