Schneider has been huge on these last couple of shifts as Russia is pushing back hard. Even more importantly, he's swallowing rebounds or clearing them away unlike in the first.

I think on the first goal he didn’t swallow it because he couldn’t see it. Two players tied up at top of crease.

lol, yep - we *****ed about him here, but at least he is showing up and playing that nasty pest role.

I think too many folks have been unfair to Glendening because they've been rightfully frustrated with Blashill. He's been good on the PK and he's played 4th line minutes. He's not getting favorable minutes despite some of the claims and he's been one of our only forwards that's been consistently physical. He's played his role as you'd expect. His play, and his usage, has been the least of our worries.

Oh boy. So many missed opportunities. Some lucky breaks too. Specailly where Ovie missed almost empty net. Schneider is giving us a chance right now. Least we can't complain that guys are lazy. Good effort.

much much better play - this is the game we were hoping for..just SHOW UP, we can deal with a loss but at least show the heart we know they have...

Yep. If they would have showed up like this in the preliminary round, they would have had a much more favorable matchup today. But when they show up like they did in this period, they can beat anyone, including Russia.

Hopefully they come out in the 3rd like that. If they can tie this up, the pressure is going to be overwhelming for Russia in a way it'll never be for us.

It's amazing how often we don't make the right read defensively, even Suter. The lack of chemistry on the pairings, exacerbated by no RHD, is evident.

And of course it had to be JVR on the backcheck. Probably the only guy on the team that can't catch a guy like Grigorenko.
