Necas just went hard into the end boards and went back to the room. He went off on his own power but it seemed to be the hip area

Can anyone tell who is trying to cover Necas there?
I'm not 100% certain, but I think the number on the helmet said 58, which would make it Selgren.

That's such a stupidly strong forward core. Solid, solid, soliiid. And it can withstand multiple injuries and many of those guys can play all forward roles.

When you look back, only Aho, Staal, Teravainen, and McGinn were on the Canes just 2 seasons ago.
Foegele, Wallmark, Necas (if he makes it) came through the AHL.
Svechnikov was drafted and came straight to the NHL.
Martinook, Haula, Nino, Dzingel came via trade/UFA.

Actually the shortened season too but that was more because I didn't think the lockout would end.

This team is filled with loads of upside. I think we may get caught off guard this year by a guy like Wallmark or Foegele taking a huge step forward. Crazy to think they were just rookies last year.

This is one of those subtle things that they’ve done very nicely over the past few years. Over half the forwards are multi-positional, and close to half of them have experience at both wing and center. That’s just such a luxury for the coach.

So it’s the day before the first preseason game, I wonder when we’re going to see an announcement made on new captain(s). Perhaps they’re waiting a little bit just to see what happens with Faulk.

I think Brindy said in a interview yesterday or the day before that they would iron that out after pre-season but before regular season. I could be wrong
I think he said they're in no hurry and aren't going to force a decision. I'm not sure I heard any sort of timeline.
yeah the out of character hemming and hawing from Brind'Amour to that question the last couple of days makes me wonder if they're not waiting for a quiet moment between preseason games and the start of the regular season to announce no captain and rotating A's this year.
