Utunen was back in action yesterday for Tappara in the Liiga. He was pointless and even in a 3-2 win, with 10:58 TOI.

Yep....Juolevi the third star tonight with a goal and a primary assist. Looks to be healthy and might finally be turning the corner. Probably won't ever be a top-pairing guy, but even if he can eventually be a 5-6 guy at the NHL level it would be something at least.

Three hat tricks in the last 4 games. Bailey needs to be given a shot. Speed, size, offense. Still only 24. Must be an upgrade on Eriksson, Shaller at least.

I've been keeping tabs on him, he seems to playing better defensively and has reportedly been more physical. We'll see how things shake out, but he's also been one of the three stars in many of the games over the past month and a half (since his return). Still needs to work on his skating / foot speed however.

linus karlsson now has 2 assists in each of his two games with his new allsvenskan team. in the latest game they beat his old team and his new team passed timra in the standings.

costmar had 3 more assists in his latest game and now has 32 points in 19 games in superelit play, aka swedish junior.

Wow did NOT see that coming

It's good to see that Lockwood has some interest in signing with the Canucks. I see him as a Brandon Tanev type of player.

His production has nosedived this year (although he's had a better past couple weeks) and he'll be in tough to get an NHL contract if he opts for UFA in August. His best option is 100% to be signing with us and have a guaranteed future for the next 3 years.

If he was tearing the NCAA apart his quotes might be a bit different.

I would really push for his ELC starting 20-21 too and get him on ATO after his NCAA season is over.

Looks like his ELC would be 2 years in length if he signs for 19-20 or 20-21 so really it's a question of whether we want 2 full cheap development years or just 1 before we have to make a decision on him again.

I agree with this. If the Canucks like him enough to offer a contract, burning a year and having essentially a one-year ELC doesn't seem to be a good approach. Not sure his production is a good reflection of his play as the Michigan team seems significantly worse than last year's. All the returning players have huge drops in their scoring. The impact of Michigan losing Quinn Hughes cannot be overstated.
