I honestly want the Rangers to go for bottom 6 players now. Find Lemiuex-likes. Gritty hitters who can skate and play PK. But I guess in Gorton we trust.

Maybe I'm wrong but I would never want to draft someone outside of a very late pick that's a gritty hitter. You can get those players outside of the draft. Plus during the draft gritty players may just be complete scrubs. I'd rather trade for an established guy like that. Boom or bust types can also be scrubs but at least you have the upside.

Joonas Oden! Overager, great skater, had a great close to his season in Liiga. Think he was a total non-prospect before this year

Jones is more in the mold of an ADA or Fox. So that’s the type of hope for the Rangers. Obviously not as heralded at the same point, but a similar type of long term hope.

I wanted Broberg for similar reasons. The Rangers have great depth on at LD, but there’s a lot of similarity. I like the upside of the last two picks.

so far, outside of teams who got those early homerun picks, I think Philly and Carolina are doing quite well in this draft. We are doing pretty well but the Kakko pick does put rose tinted lenses over everything so it's hard to be objective.
