It doesn't ****ing matter. Then we get Hughes. Lol
I think at this point we should prepare that there is a very good chance we are getting Hughes.

Nope
Kakko is clearly the better player at the moment. The Devils dont have the luxury of waiting on Hughes and his sky high ceiling. They need to be a playoff team this season to prove to Hall they're for reals or else he is leaving.
Devils might just be a better team in 2019 with Kakko then Jack.

It's a short sighted decision but that is the Devils reality at the moment without a commitment from Hall or if they're OK with risking putting themselves in a Tavares/NYI situation
I doubt they are dumb enough to take what they believe is a lesser player because "they don't have the luxury of waiting." They aren't a contender next year anyway so what does it matter if Hughes takes a year or two to bulk up?
You know what makes Hall walk? Not getting to play with his buddy Jack Hughes

Hall isn't waiting a year or two. That definitely has to be a factor.
Yeah, that's the thing that solidifies it for me. I think they had every intention of drafting Hughes when the won the pick. I don't think they'll change their mind based on this tournament.
