Longterm value for NJ is Hughes at Center. Hughes will fill out and may grow still. He is too dynamic. Cant compare Kakko to Hughes right now. Have to consider longterm value.
It’s not even who has an edge in talent, if there’s any team that needs a franchise player like an American McDavid, it’s the Devils.

Why is the idea that Hughes is pre-pubescent and Kakko is already finished growing? Lmao
Hughes will be small and Kakko will be big, if you look at Kakko when he’s not in hockey gear he is a pretty skinny guy, he’s going to get much stronger than he already is

They’re not.
What if Kakko ends the tournament with 15 points and continues to just dominate, and Hughes ends with 1. Big what if...but if that happens I could see quite a few scouts putting Kakko over Hughes, then who know what happens.

This game is very boring to watch outside of KK by the way. Not a high quality game.
I’ve never liked the bigger international ice but any hockey in May is good hockey as far as I’m concerned. Honestly tho I think this game has been better than CAN-FIN.

Kakko really good with the puck my god
I’ve been impressed with his commitment to a two-way game this tournament, very mature. Obviously I don’t mean Patrice Bergeron, but he hasn’t just been floating around at the blue line either. You get the vibe he wants to learn and be an overall player not just all offense.

That’s the way this Fin team plays, maybe it’s why it was important to him to skip the U18.
