I dunno, I guess two forwards and a D on that one side of the ice was the real breakdown. Fox was playing his position and the forwards were a bit mixed up

It was a joke. Anyway, I still have nightmares, flashbacks to the 2003 draft.
why

if they took Eric Fehr or Steve Bernier or Mark Stuart would that have changed anything? There's an abnormal amount of real good players in that 1st after the 12th pick but also a lot of guys who were just guys.

wtf

1 Hughes and 1 DeBrincant = 1 Chara. Someone get them boys a protein shake.

USA creating good chances but just not quite getting it through or connecting

I feel like they just need to do some getting the puck on net with traffic and see what happens. They're trying to pass it into the middle but the SLovak's have that covered well, yet no one is going to the net for longer shots. Create some rebounds and see what happens, maybe it'll open up other plays sa well

I just started watching but it looks like USA doesnt really "get" the angles and time/space of the bigger ice

USA looks confused on the big ice. Wayyyy too much open space left out there, guys getting strung out, poor puck movement by their D

Canada and US are almost always totally different teams a few games into the tournaments. I think the European players often are more used to national team games, comes into it faster. And they of course especially was brought up on the big ice.

Wouldn’t really read anything into how the US and Canada looks now, it’s a bunch of games that don’t matter much. Then it starts for real.

For sure

Montoya was a little out of left field, but I feel like that was a different era of decisionmakers.

It was still not a top-2 pick in a draft without any other candidates even a possibility to be picked.

This is massively different from 6th, 7th or 9th overall where 10 teams have 10 different lists
