What's ****ed up is I have little emotion about this. I felt all that when Eli took a seat for Geno Smith back in 2017 thinking we were nearing the end and Eli has been the starter every game since lol.

Eli is likely the best in this QB this team’s history, and yet, you could almost say there’s a bit of disappointment about his tenure. Only once did they make the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. The only years in which he won a playoff game were the Super Bowl seasons. He still made the same dumb mistakes he did when he entered the league. And, yet, we’re talking about a likely Hall of Famer. Just a strange career.

Somehow, Giant ownership and management saw a playoff team in the past two off-seasons. I’m not sure what they were looking at.

I think the easy schedule this year made them feel they had a shot but they’d still have to win 2 of the 4 against Dallas and Philly even if they did win every one of the NYJ/MIA/ARI/DET/BUF/TPA games and they already lost one of those

I was not a fan of the Shurmer hire. But I would like to see him with a QB that fits his system here. Eli just doesn't fit the WCO. He's always been better staying in the pocket and throwing the ball down the field. I think this is the reason why the offense looks so vanilla. A mobile QB should open up some things.

Beckham didn't want to be here.
Also let Landon Collins walk away. A month or so ago Kim Jones mentioned on WFAN that OBJ, Collins and Vernon were guys who hated losing and maybe that's why they didn't want to be here. In 2017 and 2018 seasons the Giants combined for 2-14 in the 1st 8 games of the season. And now it's 2-16. It's like that old Police song "I can't I can't I can't stand losing..."

I would bet a lot on the Giants offense being better with Jones in.

They won’t be elite but they’ll move the ball IMO. I think people are underestimating how done Eli is. Dude can’t even hit an out route any more.

Criticize Eli all you want. It wouldn't be unwarranted. But, the WRs he's working with are absolutely terrible. They're incapable of getting open. It's actually funny to watch. There are only a few QBs in the league that throw it with the accuracy and velocity that would be needed to succeed with these guys. Daniel Jones isn't that guy either.

I just don't see a point in putting the kid in a position to fail. Re-evaluate things once Tate and Shepherd are back, IMO.

Eh, why not get his career started? What’s there to be gained by playing Eli? Find out what you’ve got in Jones, especially when you’re likely headed for another high pick.
This is the anxiety i fear. Imagine he goes out and is terrible. Or even just average. Very average. And we get another top pick and are forced to take the QB in the much deeper QB class? After passing on taking the Pass Rusher at #6 this past draft.

Id lose my f***ing mind. Forget firing Gettleman, thats a foregone conclusion....i’d want those POS Mara’s to sell the team for hiring that jackass to begin with.

The college stats argue Jones is going to be a terrible NFL QB. There’s been something like 2 QBs taken the last 30 years who saw pro completion and TD-INT numbers be better than their NCAA stats were. Don’t forget it’s highly remote even if Jones starts 13 of these remaining 14 games that the Giants have a bottom 3 pick anyway. There’s just too many easy games in there

I do think the Offense might improve with Daniel Jones simply because he isnt Eli, meaning the opposition has known that Eli is immobile, let alone his arm fading because of his age. He has never been a QB that can move really at all. He stayed in that pocket. So you can pretty much scheme knowing this. You can just attack the pocket knowing Eli is just going to turtle and not ditch the pocket to make a play. I am not saying Jones is Lamar Jackson, but pretty much anyone is more mobile than Eli. And obviously it doesnt help that we have worse than replacement level Receivers to work with at the moment.

I love Eli. He brought us 2 Super Bowls. He certainly wasn’t spectacular throughout his career but he did deliver what you hope a top draft pick QB would do ultimately.

Hey man dont you doubt the Giants with this putrid pathetic defense. Maybe worst ive watched in my life. That defense could get them to a bottom 3 pick

The only pro athletes I’ve ever been convinced in my life I could beat in a foot race were Bengie Molina and John Olerud. I’m pretty convinced I could beat Eli too and I probably could have beaten him 10-15 years ago. It’s remarkable how good of a career he had being as slow as he was

It’s hard to see them losing to the Cardinals or Dolphins and probably the Skins at home. That’s 3 wins right there and you have to think they scratch 1-2 more out perhaps against Philly/Jets/Detroit. I think you’ll see two teams go 1-15 or 2-14 so 3 wins is putting you 3rd this year

Who are the dolphins beating? I don't think even the jets are bad enough to lose to them.

Projected top 10 draft order:

1. Miami Dolphins (0-2)
2. New York Giants (0-2)
3. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
4. New York Jets (0-2)
5. Washington Redskins (0-2)
6. Arizona Cardinals (0-1-1)
7. Carolina Panthers (0-2)
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
9. Miami Dolphins (from 0-2 PIT)
10. Oakland Raiders (1-1)

Yup...unless there's a dramatic turnaround on D, this team isn't winning more than 3 games at best.

In good times , the Giants have a hard time beating Philly. They'll get destroyed in both games. Desean Jackson will torture them like he always does.

It's like the Giants and Jets are in a competition of who can be the most incompetent football team in the New York market.

In the 45 years watching this cursed team, this might be the fastest the season has ended. Even when Rich f***ing Kotite was here, there was still hope after the 2nd eeek of the season...for f***s sake...you can’t make this shit up.

I knew the schedule was brutal for first 6 games and thought maybe they could be at worst 2-4 with Sam making the next step and all the new shiny toys on D and on O. With attractive final 10 games on schedule a .500 season looked realistic.

Instead season is over and 4-12 maybe 5-11 is best they can hope for. Un friggren real. The season is over other to see if Sam will developer tho with this horrific Oline, I'm afraid Sam is going to get hurt....ugggg

Probably said this half dozen times since the embarrassing loss to Buffalo...thank god for the Rangers and all their shiny new toys.
