He could be fired tonight it’s too late. He had an opp to get Rosen get Allen Get Cody Ford or Montez Sweat. He literally did none of that. He set this franchise back a decade at least.
When I see it I’ll exhale
Are you going to sit there with a straight face and claim that Gettleman is more competent than Phil Jackson?Giants have a ways to go before dropping to Knick level.
After Reese and Gettleman, they would have to look outside of the organization for a GM. Thit is my silver lining here. They can fire Gettleman tomorrow but the damage has already been done. Even if they fire him, I have no faith his replacement would be any better. After all, they did minimal effort before hiring Gettleman in the first place.
Some had Lawrence as a generational talent.Going to be blunt, here.
Not only did the Giants pass on value with Lawrence, but they passed on need.
don't mind the lawrence pick. But a little confusing considering giants have bj hill and dalvin tomlinson at that position.
Jones pick just continues to baffle my mind. Considering the state of the defense... what expectations do the NYG front office have for this coming season? No significant additions, they can't possibly think this team will improve significantly next year. 3 legit 1st round QBs coming out next year... Does Gettleman actually talk to other GMs? What did the Giants see that the rest of the league didn't see to think Jones was worth so much more than Haskins? They couldn't figure out that one of Haskins or Jones would most likely be sitting there at #17??? He's supposed to be a cap guru but opts to take the qb at 6 over a qb at 17, knowing in a few years you're going to have to give a boatload of money to Saquon.
Gettleman's entire reign now falls on Daniel Jones being the franchise QB for the Giants for the next 5-10 years.
Gettleman's moves have the potential to keep this team a laughing stock for an additional 5 years plus. And I'd say they've been a laughing stock for the past 3 at least. Giants ownership should go with him if these moves don't pan out.
Some had Lawrence as a generational talent.
I’ve been talking up this guy since he got suspended. You’re thinking of the wrong Lawrence, clearly.
Okay, but you're doing this to yourself.
See: Trying to make a connection between sports that don't exist, saying that Button had Podkolzin #2 (he has him 6), etc.
Giants done goof'd though, theres no doubt about that.
Then why bring only Gordie into it?This has nothing to do with a connection between the two teams It’s connecting old men with outdated ideas and massive egos picking guys they like regardless of bpa and it happens in all sports all the time. Nothing is a given
Then why bring only Gordie into it?
This is one of those times when you literally could've assembled a team of a half-dozen knowledgeable fans to hammer out a game plan for the first round, and come away with as much, if not better value than what you received in exchange for the millions of dollars you just paid the "professionals."
It's all the hope we have left. This is Ryan gropp 2.0 hereKaapo Kakko guys, Kaapo Kakko...
