Byram won't be there at 8 so my favorite pick would be Dach as well. Right handed 6'4 center, local kid.. just a perfect fit.

Lmao @ anyone voting trade our pick considering

- What happened the last time this shithole management traded a first round pick
- Upcoming expansion draft protection concerns
- Our cap situation

The top 8 in this draft is very solid and we get to choose the leftover of that top 8.

Stauffer seems to think that none of the 3 WHL player will be there, meaning that we would get one of Turcotte or Zegras, which would pretty much be christmas in june.

At 8 it gives us a chance with one of Krebs/Dach/Cozens, I can live with one of the three players. With an outside chance of Byram sliding.

Meh

Zero value in lists like this. Who goes 8th overall will vary by year based on team scouting/team need. Better off just making a list of everybody who was drafted 8th or later.

Anyways, I still say the draft is the only way up for this organization. Better start making picks count. If they trade it, it better be to trade down a bit for more picks. Not getting a quick fix back in a trade with the 8th overall. They could package it with Nurse and still not get a top pairing D.

It's 4 WHLers and if all 4 are gone along with Podkolzin and the top 2 assuming that no surprises occur, that leaves Turcotte AND Zegras. If a lower ranked player gets picked ahead of 8, even better. 9 and higher is a good spot in this draft.

Bob is the closest thing we have to a mouthpiece for the oilers so glad to see him advocating Turcotte and Zegras (My favorites in this draft outside of Kakko/Hughes). Not the biggest fan of Krebs but not the worst thing imaginable (That would be Broberg at 8)

He didn't mention Krebs as part of the WHLers

Krebs would be a nice pick for us. Love his motor.

HFSabres seem to super high on him.

Dach seems like the perfect fit for our team... We don't need small skilled playmakers...we need finishers

Too bad our management seems to be hung on getting faster. They will pick Cozens over Dach for sure

I think there's a lot of local bias in some lists I've seen. American's like Zegras and Turcotte, consider them locks for top 6. I've seen Turcotte in the #3 spot by many people. Then guys out West like Stauffer think the same with Dach and Cozens. Meanwhile Podkolzin is consistently ranked 3rd overall but no one on HF seems to like him. I think the draft has potential to be similar to last year with a lot of surprises.

Yeah, I just saw the tweet. Krebs, Turcotte or Zegras most likely unless the Oilers go off the board, looks good to me. I wouldn't be overly shocked to see Podkolzin or Dach there either. I don't think there's a lot separating 3-9 and I think we'll see 1 or 2 off the board picks.

Russians will never shake the HF stigma, especially when they say "yea I might just stay here until I think I'm ready."
