  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I have a guess as to what I think will happen concerning the lottery, I think they will use 8 empty slots that are TBD (based on play-in results, the losers will be sorted by points percentage). So we may very well not know who won until the round is completed.

I thought the draft was being planned for June.

Interesting idea, not sure how I feel about it. Any team in the tournament has a shot at the cup, should they really also have a shot at winning the lottery?

Ideally, only the 7 who are left out have a shot, I just don't think that's likely and this is a better alternative to giving a team a chance to win the cup and #1 overall.

Winning the lottery is winning the bounce of the balls. Whether it moves you up all the way to the first pick or not is another matter. I guess I'd be ok with it if the teams who were in the play in round could only move up 1 or 2 spots. We'll find out soon I suppose.

Darn, I knew I should have taken Quantum Physics in school. It has to be easier to understand than this draft explanation.

Does anyone know how far the Kings can drop?

3 spots. From our perspective the lottery is unchanged, its as if they never canceled the season and we finished 28th.
 
I think the best part out of all this (and I could totally be wrong about my assumptions) is that it sounds like the off-season is right now. If they plan on a full 20-21 season, there's not going to be much time between awarding the cup and the start of the next season. That's great for us....let all the other teams tire themselves out, we'll be primed for the next season.

Yeah, but when does next season start now? AHL too? Losing some development time for prospects, it seems.

Also, Doughty might be 280 pounds if training camp doesn't start until November.

That's kind of my point, it sounds like they expect a full season to start on time. So I'm taking that as there will be a very little break between awarding the cup and start of the season.

So we can be anywhere from 1st to 7th. Hoping that either we get called in the first phase (picks 1-3) or Det, Ott & Ott take the first 3 slotS and we get 4th. Otherwise we wait until Phase 2. Correct?
