Amadio had a few good moments. I like Lizotte, but would like to see what Amadio could do as 2C. He just makes wicked plays in tight quarters and once tonight when 3 Jets were swarming him.
And he's got a good shot, but will not likely get feeds from Wagner and Clifford....no matter what, he's emerging as a very good young center. Just scratching the surface. He actually had good chemistry with Kovalchuk those few games. Would have liked to see them keep playing together.

I think the problem is Drew's ice time is down but he's still playing in conservation mode.

I mean again it doesn't help that he's getting used like Vlasic and I have a hard time blaming either "-" on him but he isn't doing anything different with the reduced minutes.

Out shot the Jets 41-28.

i'm talking more situational awareness, i'm not about to go into a tirade about it but they are prone to losing their minds and making bad decisions when they could take a second to make a better decision as evidenced by the 5000 icings, wagner's... "moment", the early string of penalties and the late trip

Teams make mistakes, there isn't a single team in the league who doesn't. I don't think they are any worse with regards to situational awareness than any other team. I mean do you think that a team with very high lack of awareness would be controlling 60% of the shot totals, 55% of the scoring chances and 59% of the high danger chances so far this season?

Nice win.

I’m tucking into some crow on behalf of MacDermid. I considered him waiver fodder but for me he should now dress most nights. Apart from his physical presence, that I’ve never doubted, his overall game has improved and I also think he looks more mobile. Pleased for the guy as I’ve always liked his attitude.

Nice to see Quick dig in shut the door for the 3rd period. You know he’s done well went the backhanded digs stop.

Kempe isn’t playing well but I think he’ll be ok, he just needs a goal. He’s not hiding and that’s so important, he’s trying to make things happen and he will get rewarded.

They have to get 8 more years out of him. It's Oct of year 1. I love that he's closer to his rookie season ice time right now than any other season he's played.

Wagner had a good overall game. But he has got to work on controlling the puck on the breakouts. Several bad turnovers along the boards, one led to the first goal after a clean faceoff win.

No idea what Wagner was thinking with that second Jets goal.

Loses the puck, ok but than he went for a line change or so ?
looked to me like he assumed hutton was gonna be able to chip the puck up so he fled but didn't account for the backcheck

on watching the replay i think hutton needs to be a bit stronger on that puck but it was a scramble situation so i kinda get it

Hutton also had two guys on him, getting pressured from behind and an incoming fore checker who kept the puck in, and had no support from any forward. This also left Doughty all alone in front of Quick. Just a very poorly executed breakdown that started with the Kings in possession of the puck in their own end and it wound up in the back of their net.

Thankfully that goal didn't make them sulk and play like crap for the rest of the game, which is what we were prone to seeing from them last season.

No I appreciate the reduced ice time. I just see Drew 'conserving,' acting like he's still playing 29 minutes instead of skating harder.

A goal like that would've opened the floodgates. We'd have lost 5-2. Good to see them starting lock games down better. Small moves.
