christ drew was AVERAGING 29 minutes in 14-15
brutal
ehhh i mean first breakaway he takes the shot too early, 2nd time he takes it too late
3rd one will be on the money
Ton of shots, struggle for goals, get 1 or 2 of those extra saves from Quick. That's old time Kings.
i'm talking more situational awareness, i'm not about to go into a tirade about it but they are prone to losing their minds and making bad decisions when they could take a second to make a better decision as evidenced by the 5000 icings, wagner's... "moment", the early string of penalties and the late trip
In Hawaii for my wedding. Didn't watch but assumed a win because MacD. Wrap him in bubble wrap between each game. Cup is ours.

I think the problem is Drew's ice time is down but he's still playing in conservation mode.
I mean again it doesn't help that he's getting used like Vlasic and I have a hard time blaming either "-" on him but he isn't doing anything different with the reduced minutes.
looked to me like he assumed hutton was gonna be able to chip the puck up so he fled but didn't account for the backcheckNo idea what Wagner was thinking with that second Jets goal.
Loses the puck, ok but than he went for a line change or so ?

on watching the replay i think hutton needs to be a bit stronger on that puck but it was a scramble situation so i kinda get it
They have to get 8 more years out of him. It's Oct of year 1. I love that he's closer to his rookie season ice time right now than any other season he's played.
Hutton also had two guys on him, getting pressured from behind and an incoming fore checker who kept the puck in, and had no support from any forward. This also left Doughty all alone in front of Quick. Just a very poorly executed breakdown that started with the Kings in possession of the puck in their own end and it wound up in the back of their net.
Thankfully that goal didn't make them sulk and play like crap for the rest of the game, which is what we were prone to seeing from them last season.
A goal like that would've opened the floodgates. We'd have lost 5-2. Good to see them starting lock games down better. Small moves.
