I'm gonna be pissed if the season ends here and we f***ed out draft positioning for no f***ing reason. What a way to piss away a terrible season for no gain. Typical kings

If guys like Vilardi, Anderson, and Petersen learned from this seven game stretch, then it was a positive season. The odds of winning the lottery are so slim. The difference between 5th and 8th (which is where we were most likely to pick anyway) isn't significant. Lafreniere and Byfield most likely go one and two, but take your pick between Stutzle, Drysdale, Rossi, Perfetti, Raymond, and Holtz. Who knows how picks five through eight shake out. Our odds of landing the first overall pick dropped a whopping four percent. The positives of finishing the season on a seven game winning streak far outweighs an additional four percent chance to pick Lafreniere, in my opinion. Changing the losing culture was paramount this year.

Hopefully the season gets called at a 69 game season and this counts for nothing other than a win for the kids.

Exactly. What's the alternative? Hoping that all the young kids struggle on their call-ups instead of excel? Hope that Kopitar, Doughty and Quick show zero signs of life instead of flashing that they can still play at a high level and are capable of turning around their struggles? For the sake of what? 5 to 8% better odds of winning the lottery of which they have low odds of winning anyway? If your retirement plan is to win the lottery, you're going to grow old broke. A losing culture breeds losing, period. The youth on the team is rocking it and the players who should be leading the team are in fact leading. I'll take it.

Sens fans approve. Possibly picking #2and #3 (before the lottery) is just sick. F'n Doug Wilson.

They traded away last years 1st, only to get 2 in this years draft. SJ is the one who's really going to be out of the mix. They have an old bad team with no prospects . They're like us a few years ago , but without the 2 Cups.

The kings turned the prospect pool around with just 3 drafts. From worst to arguably best in 3 years.

I’m just pleased and extremely satisfied to see the pain and miserable hockey we have had to endure is slowly starting to become a thing of the past thanks to an injection of youth. Some of us frustrated fans have been waiting for this moment, and things will get better for this team in the near future.

Bingo. The guys look like they want to win again, and it is filtering through the organization. It's a very good sign.

I’ll take the kids getting this winning streak with our core 4 over a small percentage of getting 1st overall any day of the week.

Bottoming out doesn’t help build a culture.

It would also not be a good look to finish worse than we did last year, in my opinion. The three weeks leading up to the trade deadline was some of the worst Kings hockey I've ever seen. This has been a delight!

Yup if it's not our year for the 1st overall then so be it. Said it many times this years draft is deep especially in the top ten which is where we are projected to be picking. Plus there's this kid who's supposedly better then Lafreniere named Shane Wright and is draft eligible in a few years so I'm confident we'll suck then too and we will win it all then. :DD

Unbelievable but unsurprising that people are upset over the Kings winning on the backs of the prospects already here stepping up.

Yeah, Twitter is full of guys really disappointed at the winning streak. All the same crap about falling out of the top 5, top 10, were screwing up our chance at the top pick, blah, blah , blah. . This draft is not going to make or break our upcoming seasons. No matter what, were going to get a good player with our first four picks.

The Kings are now in 28th. Odds now are 28.8% for a top 3 pick, 2.8% for the 4th pick, and 68.4% for 5th thru 7th, with 5th being the highest chance.

Remind me again what the odd of the Hawks picking in the top 3 last year after just missing the playoffs?
