I don't think Jim gives Faust enough credit and respect. Jim deferred to Bob Miller, because he had so much respect for him as a broadcaster. For some reason now, Jim seems to feels he needs to give his commentary more often. I wish Jim would just relax a bit and let the game tell more of the story.

If you have ever met Jim, he is a really good guy.

Faust is like that awkward young son trying to reign in his absolutely plastered father at a party.

I really tried to like Faust, like really tried but I can’t stand him any longer. He grated on me but Fox I still quite like. I think my feeling for Faust is very much based on his dynamic with Fox specifically. You’re correct in that it’s really weird and I blame Faust as Fox was great with Bob.

Either way they desperately need to change one if not both of them.

That’s a good take on it and it’s hard to disagree.

Faust doesn't seem to like the Kings or really hockey in general, if I remember correctly he began announcing hockey because it was the only opening. I wonder if Fox feels the need to comment more because Faust is lacking in enthusiasm or knowledge. I will say one thing though, Faust does seem to enjoy chit chatting with Fox about nothing and arguing with the fanbase over not believing in jynxes.

I agree 100%. Jim wasn’t like this when Bob or another experienced vet who called some games during Bob’s last season were in the booth.
