I'm so mad at Moverare it's impossible to shake USELESS.
I know in the end it's unfair because Montén

So many times a game against Canada has left me frustrated (to say the least...maybe I should say furious) but not this time. Our swedish boys played their hearts out. Not a choke, not too much respect for the canadians. Just a "regular" loss. It still hurts obviously, but both teams can be proud of themselves. Obviously it's gonna take a little bit longer for the swedes to feel that way but nevertheless. And all this crap about "better team" is so much bullshit. It's like goaltendning and scoring ability isn't a part of being the better team. Great game Canada! Cheers

Why, because I thought the reffing was abysmal? It's apparently against the rules around here unless it's in Canadian favour? Apparently it's "salty" to think they were not good at all at keeping a consistent level over 200ft of the rink? I haven't complained about the refs for the entire tournament until this game, because this time, it was so blatantly one-sided.

For the 500th time, I'm fine with the game and I'm fine with the loss as a Swedish fan, because it was a great game and it was basically a coin toss in the end who would win. That I think the refs were a joke - which several Canadians and other nationalities also think - has nothing to do with how I feel about the actual game. They are two separate statements.

I'll back you up.

I'm Canadian.

I don't ever expect even penalties but 6-1 is a little hard to take. Especially in a championship game where the Refs don't want to be a factor.

I cannot believe .... and any astute hockey fan would agree ... that with the game 2-1 after Canada got 4-5 PPs in a row and a Swedish player has their stick broken, the puck turned over as a result and it ends up in the net to make it 3-1... how that's not a call is beyond my understanding of the game I have played and watched for 40 years.

If this game were played overseas and call it exactly the same but switch the teams so that Canada is on the losing end of the calls, non calls and score... well you can just imagine the outrage.

Incredible. Not a good look.

I'm sure the Swedish Federation will have a chat with him. Not the look you want from your captain.
Why not? He clearly does not care about a silver medal in a game like this and kind of does not respect this loss. That is a winner right there!

Seriously depressed?? Those penalties were legit all of them! Dahlin sticking his leg out to trip the forward!! What the hell is the ref supposed to do.

Call penalties for both team using the same standard. It is a novel concept, but maybe some day it will catch on.

English is not my first language sorry haha. I mean why would he need to show class here? So you think players should just not care about losing ?

They should care, but there is also a standard of sportsmanship expected in an event of this magnitude, particularly if you are the captain of your team. I don't think losing is a legitimate excuse to act however you want.

Who cares about silver, the goal is to win. CAN can win in hockey and in being the #1 **** country on earth, that's it. Can they not enjoy winning in their usual bull**** style, or are they so insecure they have to feign outrage about someone else doing something they disapprove of? Lias Andersson has more class in his pinky than the entire failing country that is Canada combined.

I'm not sure if the xenophobia is more shocking here or the fact that this sort of trash has "likes".

Uh, well done, I guess?

He has offensive upside and has been good against less competition, When he doesnt get the time as today, he make bad decisions and turnover the puck a lot!

While you're bang on with your assessment, you know as well as I do any Leafs fans in this thread will throw a major hissy fit when his play is looked at objectively. Just wait a few years until the truth is apparent to even the most ardent Leafs homer.

Insults such as? Calling him classless? Harsh. I'm not kicking anyone. Sweden played well, dirty at times though. Especially near the end of the game. I'm beyond happy Canada won.
You called the Swedish player a 12 year old and a choker. It might not seem like much but if you going to call a teen out for dignity and class. Doing it with insults, even mild ones doesn’t show much class yourself.

Can’t wait to see him hurl his Three Star selection stick ON the ice.
That would be awesome! Or wait, on the ice? He should break it over his knee and throw the parts into the empty bench. He would instantly become my new favourite player. Anyone who isn't a media trained cyborg, waving their hands and answering clichée questions with clichée answers, is an upgrade.

I guess in order to appease people, all games should have three calls for each team...deserved or not. Then no one can complain, because it was all even. Plus, both teams get to have four goals each. And also, everyone gets a gold medal and a hot chocolate at the end of the game, so no one has to stand on the blueline and cry.
