Sweden had their chances in the 2 first periods! Canada come back good in the third and finally got some pressure in offensive zone, Then the penaltys wared out the swedes, half the period on pk. Nothing to say about the Canadian gold medal , they capitalized after a strong 3 period!

We need to hire a Canadian coach to help us refine the dive. Not once did a Swedish player take a dive to draw a penalty despite the obvious compensation opportunities because of the lopsided distribution of penalties.

All kidding aside, Sweden played on of their best games in recent years and really layed it all out on the ice.

Canada got the win and they have a great team as usual. It's just sad that the once proud non-diving nation has become a nation of cheaters.

I agree. They played a good game but someone had to lose. They are mature kids and will be back.

Sweden was imo the best team in the finals, but its no shame in losing to another good team.

Feel pretty fortunate to have won that, the team's passing was so bad not to mention the PP. The Swedes were faster and stronger on the puck and far more aggressive (though also stupid with those penalties). I thought Ducharme has done a really good job 2 years in a row with teams that were not labelled favourites coming into the tournament. Deep, but not high-end talent and he got both squads to play structured hockey.

My team beat Dave Hammond's team in Inline hockey (Narch if anyone knows it and he played on Team Canada's inline teams) and he chucked his 2nd place medal after he got it. Nothing but respect. 1st or nothing.
