Lias Andersson officially and forever a clown.
Again, it's not so much about the calls and the standard they reffed for Sweden. It's the constant non-calls for Canada that is at issue. Again, when a Canadian player does an identical play 2 minutes before a Swede is penalized for it, when the penalties in the game end 6-1, it just effing stinks. Talk about classical home refs. They could've had Mr Magoo reffing in the Canadian zone with better results.I won't lie and say I wouldn't be frustrated if those same calls had gone against us and we lost. But I think when cooler heads prevail and everyone goes back and looks, the calls were correct.
Is the goal to have equal PPs? I am not sure I understand...
Wasn't he the guy that got beat on the 1st goal and the guy that turned it over for the 3rd?
Yes, yes they did. You can argue that Canada got away with some stuff and Sweden should have had a few more power plays, but Sweden took some really stupid penalties and paid for it.1. Sweden did not deserve all the penalties the refs handed out
Pettersson tosses the medal lmao
No they didnt. Sweden was taking dumb penalties that were deserved. I thought Sweden got away with alot.
I wouldn't put a fan of the winners saying "you are second best, congratulate the better team" in the "class" drawer, so I have to wonder who you are to talk?
It's the linesmen's job to fish the puck out of the net.Refs helped Canada a lot in this game.
I agree that Sweden was, for almost the entire game, more aggressive and harder on the puck.Feel pretty fortunate to have won that, the team's passing was so bad not to mention the PP. The Swedes were faster and stronger on the puck and far more aggressive (though also stupid with those penalties). Anyways, weird that this underdog Canada team won the gold while some of the past powerhouses fell short of the final.
Also please ffs no more head coaches from the QMJHL.
