Idk how old you are but I can see us slipping. Countries like America are starting to care about hockey. And when they care anywhere close to as much as we do, they have 10 times the population to fuel that.

Idk for me I've never really thought population really matters that much, the Swedes have been extremely successful at hockey for years and years with their 9 million, Canada might not exercise complete and utter domination like it once did but Canada will still be winning gold medals at a fairly consistent clip IMO.

Very unlucky. Necas misses the empty netter and then those dumb penalties. Canadian PP is just brutal tho. Hats off.

Canada has more depth than the other countries but the other countries are catching up.

Canada surely has depth. Sometimes they are challenged in best team depth. In the past couple times they just had horrible coaching. It doesn't matter tho if you have ten of the worlds best sprinters, only 3 are allowed to compete.

That and American born players.

Yeah like the roster that was posted about the USA junior next year a short while ago that has at least 9 dual citizens. You should check the US rosters over the last so many years.

Unfortunately Counter Strike...

It's cold out there...

I wish I was a young kid again... would love to skate in the dark with the lights out forever again...

Would love that my Mother would call the neighbor next to the Community Club who would yell out the window at me and tell me my Mother wants me home...

But I'm not a kid today...

God I remember this so well, we used to live for that.

We would lose all our pucks as the day wore on and use frozen codfish heads that the ice fisherman left as a substitute, they worked well too!!

The best of times, the very best.

Disallow composite sticks. From junior to pros. Thats the answer. Sticks cost 10 times what they did when I was a kid.

Well, it’s more that composite sticks break a lot easier than they probably should, which is expensive

Just looked at the rankings, Canada barely has players ranked in the top10... just an odd weak year or is this a new trend, canada doesn't produce as good talent as they used to?

Odd year.

2 years ago Connor McDavid was drafted who is better than anyone since Crosby (another Canadian) went first overall and likely to be the top draft pick from any country for at least the next 10 years.

Canada is still producing elite level talent better than anyone else.

I still have Gretzky pattern Titan sticks in my garage rafters... leftovers from my junior hockey...

Banged all the hell up... no end in sight...

Composite is a corporate boondoggle...

Hockey Canada should outlaw them until bantam and only allowed for bantam elite...

To volunteer coach is getting even harder with all sorts of hoops to jump through....

Parents that never trust anyone and think little Johnny is the next coming of Sam Gagner...

Volunteer coaches and refs get so much insane hate, it's a miracle anyone is willing to do it anymore.

Absolutely, all the time.

We would eventually lose all our pucks on the bras dor lake in the snow banks when a puck would go awry and we had to improvise...................the frozen cod fish heads got pushed into service on a regular basis.

You havent lived until you have put a codfish head in top corner.

Can never beat those days, they were gold.
