full stick around his waste...it is a penalty...Tkachuk drew the penalty, over acted, but that gets called 90% of the time in any league...I have seen million times worse than that, he out hustled the Swedish player to the puck, he got lazy and wrapped his stick in Tkachuk - penalty - simple as that

I'm not exactly saying #5 Lindström is out of the courthouse here. He's an awful D-man.

Mittelstadt has been pretty dynamic this tournament. He was probably undersold in the lead up to this event.

Pettersson by far the best forward for sweden so far. dahlin for defense.

Where's Nylander? Andersson? Sweden keeps playing a perimeter game. Go to the net, create something. Soderlund and Jonsson show more effort and heart than those two.

Seems like plenty of opportunities have gone through Nylander's stick in the first, including one of the amazing stops by Woll on Nylander himself.

While you are right to some extend, a big crowd certainly adds to the experience in my opinion and makes me enjoy it more. It's also a lot nicer for the players

The feeling I get is that the Americans may very well overtake Canada as the main source; the mother-load of high end talent.

Which is surprising given the much more fertile bedrock of Canada. It is my impression there are more junior players in Canada by far for example.

Europeans used to kind of laugh at American hockey-players (I am exaggerating) and reserve the genuine respect for the Canadians. Everyone knew they were the best .. by far.

But now .. not sure.

I agree both teams wiffing on puck seem nervous
