As a defensemen, you know the forechecker is taking you into the boards, thats the expectation. You are taught how to defend yourself. What Comtois did was far from over the top and pretty standard. It was an unfortunate play and 2 minutes is fair but its nothing more than that. I saw someone suggest the ice playing into the result and I can buy that as well, Lindgren only half committed to absorbing the contact, might have been the ice, might have been fatigue.

You can't place the blame on the defenseman and excuse Comtois here. He saw a defenseman in a vulnerable position, and he shoved him face first into the boards. It was stupid and unnecessary.

I don't think Lindgren played it particularly smart, but Comtois saw numbers the entire time. If we're dishing out responsibility, it's still 90% on Comtois.

I don’t understand the complaining about the outdoor game and conditions overall. It’s a lasting memory for these kids to be playing outside like this. It’s also been extremely entertaining IMO
