I'm no expert....but if you have to change the fundamental rules of the game to ensure a "level playing field" due to the venue.....perhaps it's not the greatest of venues?

Just saying
You think the wind gives a crap about hockey rules? It's an outdoor game FCS and splitting the third makes it MORE even. And you are moaning about equality?

I think they have split the third in EVERY outdoor game played so far.

Including the one in Southern California, if memory serves.

Clearly you aren't understanding what I'm saying......if the venue (outdoors) causes the elements to affect the game in such a manner the fundamental rules of the game have to be altered....then perhaps the games shouldn't be played outside....

Lol will middlestadt learn that this is team canada and not slovakia?

Could be Denmark. Doesn't matter. Shouldn't be pulling those moves against anyone in these ice conditions.

A game like this really seems to favor the heavier-footed guys who habitually play a simple game. I'm sure Mittelstadt knows he needs to play a simpler game but resisting the instinct to deke your way inside the offensive line when you're making split-second decisions probably isn't all that easy.

Props to these volunteers snow clearing.
Agreed. Can relate to having to do some extreme snow shoveling (though not normally on skates). That is a workout. Especially when you feel the time crunch with a game being paused while you work. Credit to them.

I'm glad the shovel breaks allow the announcers to practice being shady tree meteorologists.

I think his point is it shouldn’t even be outdoors

Yeah, I'm not a fan of these. I enjoyed the original one back in, what was it, 2008? In part because it was unique.

It's too forced now, and it feels like a cash grab. The quality of the game clearly suffers. The negatives outweigh the positives.

Definitely. They are probably freezing as well.
