Oh God Chia.... don’t screw this up... I vomit looking at that 2015 draft... Reinhart!!!! Cost the team one of Barzal, Chabot, Boeaser, konecny, roslovic.... OMG. What a massive fail. Chia is dealing from one of if not THE weakest position in the league... I’m worried
Also Aho and Greenway with the second pick

My biggest fear today is a chia trade.

That's still selling low on Parayko and that package doesn't get them ROR IMO.

Some of you guys always do this. Offer feeble packages for good players then get disappointed when reality hits.

Look at what Jones went for, a #1 center. That will be St. Louis's asking price I'd imagine, very similar situation to what Nashville had actually. A Dman with #1 potential playing behind a true #1 and a big need for a #1 center. The difference here is that Parayko is already locked up long term while Jones wasn't. IMO, they will ask for Draisaitl and rightfully so or at least RNH+10th is they really believe in RNH.
What did Hamilton return? Parayko isn't much better than Hamilton was at the time of the trade.

This is not about winning a trade for either teams. It's about what can benefit the Oilers, Blues and Sabres.

I'm as much of a Chia hater as anyone.

But can we hate the moves and actions he actually makes and not have panic attacks and scream at clouds for things he hasn't even done yet?

You can be scared but no reason for crying about spilled milk that hasn't been spilled yet because the guy has a history of spilling milk.

Nashville was desperate for a 1C and had a spare future 1D lying around. It's not the case for St Louis. They love Schenn, they'd be ok with a 2C behind him, they don't have a great replacement for Parayko.

Draisaitl for Parayko is fair value is a vacuum. Outside it, it might be Draisaitl +.

Hamilton was unsigned and by all accounts, had a falling out with the Bruins so wasn't going to re-sign so they weren't going to deal him in a "hockey trade". The Jones situation is the closest comparable based on what I said in the previous post because it was a need for need trade.
The Blues don't have to trade Parayko.

Furthermore, I can't see the Sabres dealing ROR for that package. I'm sure they want players who can contribute now but maybe I'm wrong.
I'd love it if the Oilers got Parayko that easily but it doesn't seem realistic IMO.

It sounds like I'm a bigger fan of Parayko than most but I actually would be willing to move Draisaitl in a deal (a #1 centreman is what St. Louis really needs) if we got more back. Something like this as a framework could interest me and would work salary-wise:

to Stl: Draisaitl, Russell
to Edm: Parayko, Fabbri

St. Louis also has a number of prospects that are really interesting like Kyrou, Thomas, and Schmaltz. It would suck to lose Draisaitl but at the same time, he might be the most realistic asset we have to work with when it comes to fixing our blueline.

Klefbom-Larsson
Nurse-Parayko
Sekera-Benning

That's the best blueline we've had since the Pronger/Spacek days. Likewise, we'd free up some cap space to address the forward lines.

There is literally nothing on that team I'd trade RNH for especially when he's shown nothing but good things since the start of last year and elevated play with Mcdavid. Certainly not trading RNH just to get rid of Lucics contract.

We've been looking for a winger for McDavid and we've finally found one and an in house solution at that and some people are trying to send him away.

I love the thought of Parayko and that one timer in Oiler silks. He's a hometown kid and a hell of a player. Not at the cost of Drai though. However, I've been thinking of 2 deals.

First one:
To EDM: Parayko
To STL: 10th Pick + Nuge + Benning

STL would do it so they could have a 1a 1b center system with Schenn and Nuge switching between the top lines. Benning gives them a replacement RHD. They can grab another stud center prospect at 10.

Second one:
To EDM: Parayko
To STL: ROR + Benning
To BUF: 10th OA + 40th OA + Bear

I'd much rather do the second one and not lose Nuge who I love. But if that first deal is on the table, I'm gonna take it.
