Chia never learned after all his other stupid trades where he gave up the best player in the deal. Why would he learn now?

A 50 point forward (once, 20 goals once) for arguably a top pairing D, and for sure a 2nd pairing D?

That's still selling low on Parayko and that package doesn't get them ROR IMO.

Some of you guys always do this. Offer feeble packages for good players then get disappointed when reality hits.

Look at what Jones went for, a #1 center. That will be St. Louis's asking price I'd imagine, very similar situation to what Nashville had actually. A Dman with #1 potential playing behind a true #1 and a big need for a #1 center. The difference here is that Parayko is already locked up long term while Jones wasn't. IMO, they will ask for Draisaitl and rightfully so or at least RNH+10th is they really believe in RNH.

This is what I'm thinking too. And I wonder if the Sabres would have interest in Sekera as a vet to help Dahlin. Something like 10+Sekera+Jones to Buffalo, ROR to StL and Parayko to Edm?

Ehh.. he didn't learn from the Seguin trade, the Wheeler trade, the Hall trade, the picks for Reinhart trade, or the Eberle trade. Its not about Chiarelli being a human being, but more so of an incompetent GM who is absolutely horrid at trades.

A GM who makes horrid trades doesn't get his team to win a cup or the playoffs in general. Just my opinion

Look at his history. Seguin trade. Hall trade. Griffin freakin' Reinhart (that's the one that burns me the most, personally but your mileage may vary). Do you truly think he has learnt anything substantive from history.. at all? I don't discount the stupidity of proposed trades but we're the fan base, we ruminate and spitball, etc... Chiarelli has not demonstrated anywhere near enough competence in the big strokes. He does ok in the small moves, college FA signings etc.

I'd probably do 10+Puljujarvi for Parayko. I just don't have that much faith in Puljujarvi, and I think Parayko could be an elite defenceman over time.

From the sounds of it the pressure is on from above so he MIGHT not be able to do anything big without consulting his bosses first

Except he has made significant horrible trades on this team that has left glaring holes throughout the roster along with overpaid contracts that have messed up the oilers cap space. I don't care what he did for the bruins.
