Nah we're not though, Zadina is overrated and you have to keep in mind, he's a 1999 birth year.

I've narrowed it down to Boqvist, Dobson, Kotkaniemi, Hughes. Or a trade down. Hopefully a trade down.

Overrated by who? Most of the pundits who have him in the third spot?

Of course, anything can happen, it's still a crapshoot and someone outside Dahlin and Svech may be better than him but we're not going to find out now.

I don't see how Dobson has the lower floor when Bouchard is a one-trick pony when it comes to producing offense and has defensive question marks.

I just can't see Dobson being less than a #3.
Bouchard is a one trick pony? Thats a first. What do you mean? Actually what the hell

The biggest meltdown won't be if we don't draft Zadina, it will be if we draft Tkachuk.

I've already asked to be premptively banned for 24 hours if the Habs pick Tkachuk 3rd OV. There will be no entertainment from me on here.

Only pure, passionate, unaltered rage experienced only by myself and my neighbours.

I mean in the sense that he doesn't score unless he's wiring it from the point. His skating isn't a weakness but he can't use it to create offense, though he is a good playmaker. Idk, it was bad word choice, but I'm trying to say he uses his slapshot a lot more than anything else, maybe teams will key in on that in the future and his offense will take a dip.

Yes, the third spot.

So you're suggesting that most or all of the pundits that have rated Zadina 3OA, are dead wrong? Given how draft re-dos don't exactly go as they first did, that's not a stretch.

His passing is almost even more impressive than his shooting. He's a stud.

His shooting ability is an absolute asset for sure but dont sleep on his playmaking and cunning in the Ozone, hes almost similar to Markov in that sense.

And he looks to score a lot more than Dobson.

Yeah he does for sure. They're very different players though. When it comes down to it, I see it as: both players have elite attributes, but Dobson can do it all at a high level, and has the potential to improve in all areas. Obviously Bouchard can also improve but has more "holes" (hate to call them that when it's not really a negative factor to his game) than Noah. Very possible Bouchard, who is in his third CHL season and developed in London is closer to his ceiling than Dobson.

It's not like Zadina knows, he's speculating. Here's the actual quote (from an article that's mostly about Tkachuk):

Brotherly battles helped prepare NHL draft prospect Brady Tkachuk for next level

This is Brady's own words:

"Scouts believe he will go in the top five, where Montreal (third overall) and Ottawa (fourth overall) have picks. “I’ve done a little bit of research on both,” Brady said, adding that he can play either wing or centre."

This kid is absolutely our pick.

Was able to locate the clip of yesterday's interview that Kyle Woodlief gave to NHL Network:

Since he lists his top 10 centers, top 10 wingers and top 10 Ds, I don't see the point of purchasing his report any more. :sarcasm:

His take on the strength of this year's draft class: "Small, quick, puck moving defencemen who are fleet-footed, who make quick decisions out of their own end, efficiently -- that, and the big scoring wingers are the real strength in the draft."

Oh f*** me. I don't know if he truly means it but his answer to the first question screams Bergevin is trying to make a quick fix and patch everything up instead of rebuilding. These next few years could be very tough boys. Fasten your seat belts cause shits about to get real.

Digging a little deeper into Woodlief's rankings, here are his Top 10 Picks for Centers as shown in the above video clip:

1. Kotkaniemi
2. Hayton
3. Dellandrea
4. Akil Thomas
5. Foudy
6. Ryan McLeod
7. Veleno
8. Lundestrom
9. Fonstad
10. Olofsson

Says that in the 25 years he's been publishing the RLR, he can't recall one year where they didn't have one single center ranked in the top 10.

Next, his Top 10 Picks for Wingers:

1. Svechnikov
2. Zadina
3. Tkachuk
4. Wahlstrom
5. Kravtsov
6. Lauko
7. Kupari
8. Noel
9. Farabee
10. Eggenberger

We were never going to rebuild.
Price had a downyear, Weber missed most of the season and we had several other injuries. Even if we dont acquire anyone, we're likely to finish higher next season than we did this year.

I feel like those are excuses. Terrible ones at that. What were we in goals for again? Oh thats right! 30th if I recall correctly. Only behind the Buffalo Sabres. It would be lovely if Price bounced back but what's the point if we can't score! How are you going to address that without acquiring anyone? I think Weber isn't going to be what he was after that injury. We will see but again, not going to do much whatsoever.

Buffalo is only going to get better with Dahlin, Mittlestadt and a healthy Eichel on their team, Arizona proved they can contend for a wild card spot at the end of this season and Ottawa is a big question mark at the moment. Those were the only teams that were worse then us and our atrocious offense. No way its the same thing next year.

Next from the above-mentioned video clip, here are Woodlief's Top 10 Defencemen:

1. Dahlin
2. Bouchard
3. Dobson
4. Boqvist
5. Hughes
6. Ty Smith
7. Alexeyev
8. Woo
9. Addison
10. Samuelsson

Woodlief's Top 10 Most Underrated Players:

1. Eggenberger
2. Romanov
3. Gerber
4. Xavier Bernard
5. Stotts
6. Connor Roberts
7. Lauko
8. Demin
9. Durzi
10. Cotter

He's particularly bullish about Eggenberger, who he's been following for 4 years. Says he didn't have his best year in his draft year this year but part of that was due to moving up for the first time to play in the Swiss National League facing 30-year old men on a nightly basis. And in the few international tournaments Switzerland was in, they had a very down year and he didn't have anyone to play with.

RLR ranks Eggenberger as a first round talent who is going to go nowhere near the first round. He's probably going to go late second/ early third round.

Woodlief is convinced that Eggenberger is someone we'll be talking about 5 years later as one of the better power wingers to come out of this draft.

Romanov: he's hidden on a deep Russian D corps, he's a good two-way player, plays physically, makes a great first pass out of his zone, is going to be a good player when he comes out of Russia.

Sees very good value for Stotts, who he says should be coming out of the second round.
