vo2 max is pretty important
According to Timmins, the on ice results is the most important one

I look at this combine as a way to gather info on their strengths and weaknesses, plus you get to interview and psycho analyze their minds, pick up on behaviours and read into their work and commitment habits.

Good place to also start talking with other GM’s

Thanks for the response, pretty neat stuff. Can't you adapt your personality or have it change over time (with maturity for example)?
Absolutely.......but sometimes it doesn’t happen as quickly for a few, sometimes never.

Core values is probably something they’re looking at, your ability to get along, how you deal with pressure (bend or break), etc, etc

Neither Barry nor Goose were invited to the combine. Have to think they're among the 16 invited to the Habs stockholm combine.

I love this time of year where places are scrambling to put out pieces on prospects like SDA when the community here has known him for a long time.

So who is the top 11 according to Timmins do you think?

And who do you guess is #12?
There is a clear top 10 when looking at concensus rankings. With Farabee and Smith just outside of it but making a clear top 12.
I would also say there is a clear top 3 and top 7.

If we draft Kotkaniemi, do you think the Habs would be tempted to sign him and let him be the first line or seconde line center in Laval under Bouchard? He could adjust to NA ice and style of play and play against men like in Finland.

I thin they will look at that option maybe.

I hope not. Give him a year in Finland and let him be the go to center in that league.

If they aren't I would wonder what our euro staff has been smoking

Spitballing but for 16 euro players not invited to Buffalo I'd say:

Barry
Goose
Ragnarsson
Albin Eriksson
Lenni
Fagemo
Axel
Linus Karlsson
Salmela
Nevasaari
Annunen
Utunen
Westfält
Lindberg
Seppälä

Depends if they're inviting overagers. If they are then Lahtinen, Emanuelsson, and Veini would all probably be there.

Was Ylonen there?

I would consider the option as well. I think it's probably best to just keep it simple, stupid. He'll pretty certainly be Pori's 1C this year and get top minutes, top PP, and perhaps some PK duties. But with Bouchard there now it's more of a conversation than it would have been.

From what I've read, Dobson is the only player @ 3 where I don't feel keeping him in the NHL would hurt his development long term, am I wrong with that assessment?

Kotkaniemi is really making a big late push . A month ago I wouldn't have thought it possible but now I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the top 3. I get a legit Dubois/Huberdeau/Drouin ''guys who came from behind all year and peeked at the right time '' vibe out of him .

Zadina feels pretty much ready to go right now to me, he plays a mature game. I can see him put up a solid 50 points rookie season as soon as next year, in the right circumstances. Physical maturity is the one key thing he has to work on and he can do that better with the pros. Plus Halifax has a great track record as far as producing guys that can make the jump right away.

I remember guys like Mike Winther dominating the combine.

People gushing over Miller because he's a physical freak but he just makes bad decisions all over the ice and I don't think he's gonna fix them.

Colin Wilson was another combine freak, was taken high partially because of it and he’s a lacklustre player.

Conversely, a lot of top talents like McDavid and Stamkos had mediocre combines at best. You can't put too much weight on what an 18 year old does in that context, it's not like the NFL where the kids are a bit older and more mature.
