panarin makes his line mates better

his passing skills are sublime. hes both setup guy and finisher both.

that line of panarin kravtsov and mika will be dynamic and dangerous.

panarin with kakko would also be outstanding.

there going to be 2 lines featuring 2 rookies thats a given. kravtsov is here to play. hell have one of the top 6 wing spots. kakko too.

CK won't be here. its gonna be panarin, Kravtsov, kakko and buchnevich. chytl on line 3

all we need is that 2C.

The cap situation won't allow to bring a true capable 2C (not a reclamation project) so the spot would need to be filled internally. It just begs to give this opportunity to Chytil, regardless what's your personal opinion of his future position at C or W should be.

People need to stop pairing Panarin and Zibanejad though. There is no reason to load up and become a one line team.
Rightly or wrongly, I think that is what you are going to see. And that is for multiple years. Some for the same of having top line players play together and feed off each other. Some for having a line that will play the most minutes and not need to have a young player be shoved into a role they are not ready for.

That's probably what will happen, but I don't agree with it. Becoming a one line team is an easy way to get shutdown.

This is still a developmental year. Another growth year. Again, this is probably still a lottery team this year. Having a first line with Panarin and Zbad on it ensures that the youngsters are not thrust into roles that they are not prepared for.

Also, the Rangers have a legit top line center who with a better supporting cast last year would have these boards crowing that he was elite. You have brought in an elite LW. If you think that any of these players are NOT going to play on the top line, you are just not being realistic.

Wouldn't worry about line combos as much as some of you people do...if Panarin starts with Zibs it's entirely possible they change the lines a few games later or a few weeks later, etc. A lot of new roster here and the coaches will have to be trying different combinations to see what works best. There's no one correct solution to the lines

e: though I will say that most teams, good or not, put their best players on the top line, this isn't unusual

**** "spreading out the offense" all that does is gimp your best players by making them play with scrubs. I'd rather have one great scoring line than 3 mediocre ones.

If all of our forward prospects not named Kakko end up scrubs then we're in very bad shape indeed.

His attitude is A+.

He loves the game, and wants to put his name on it.

Doesn't care about getting a fancy car, and quickly skirts the question with the Uber response, but keeps bringing up Jagr, Gretzky, and Lemieux with reverence.

Him and Kakko are two very talented, determined, kids.

yep love the attitude and its just short interviews but these guys seem like really good kids and people that you'll want to root for.

in a way i'm more excited about krava than kakko...i mean yeah kakko will be better but it was only a month ago that krava was gonna be 'the man' for our rebuild. when was the last time we had a young player as talented as him? kovalev? and now he's gonna be our 3rd best winger facing other teams 2nd or even 3rd pairs. its crazy

Gotta say, during the summer I usually never tune into MSG.

This year I've watched a lot of MSG 150 segments on the Go app. Its been easy with the summer the Rangers have had, but they've done a decent job of providing some new material every week.

We are very lucky to have drafted these kids.

We are all excited to see what they can bring and we are all hopeful of the ceilings these two kids have. But can you friggin imagine if they both exceed expectations?

Yeah, best case is a Mack/Rant type of scenario - except on a much, MUCH deeper squad.

Wow.

I really think Kakko is going to be the 2C. Maybe not to start the year but by January he will have the 2C position locked down.

Then your Center depth looks much better:

Zib
Kakko
Lias/Howden
Lias/Howden/McKegg

As long as gorton isn't gettleman.

That really is kind of weird with the names. Kakko and Kravtsov. Beckham and Barkley. Gorton and Gettleman. Do the Giants have the equivalent of Staal, Skjei, Shattenkirk and Smith on their defense? ;)

I just looked at their roster and they have 4 As, 4 Bs, 5 Cs, 4 Ls, 5 Ms and 4 Ts. That's out of 42 players though, so not as surprising. Have to see the team once all the cuts are made.
