I listened to the interview. Gorton hedged his answer on when Kravtsov is coming over (as he should) while noting that Kravtsov's team starting PO (so they are obviously keeping close taps on him). JG stated that the organization will try to bring him over as soon as possible while giving consideration to his contract situation. We could read this last point as a reference to NOT giving him a contract with the Rangers because of expansion draft, ECL implication etc, however in the same vein Gorton also mentioned "reading in Russian" so he might be referring to the consideration of when Kravtsov's contract with Traktor officially ends (April 30?), any obligations with Russia National team, and maybe not willingness from Kravtsov standpoint to join Hartford on PTO.

I think Kravtsov just got a secondary assist on a meaningless for this game PP goal to get Traktor closer 2:4 with less than 90 seconds left in the game.

Pretty chippy game. Kravtsov was getting a lot of ice time but it is exasperating how the whole Traktor team can't execute simplest plays in key times. Like our friend Thomas fanning on a shot during PP with the whole net wide open.

I’d tell him to rest up we’ll get the contract done in the summer. No need to come to Hartford and play for that bullshit team after a long year already for him.

Hartford has 16 games left. If you can get him here, let him practice with the team, then get him into 10-12 games I think that would be fine. Just to give him a taste of North American hockey. The coaches and scouts can watch him and maybe give him some areas to focus on over the summer.

Hartford has been fine moving higher-end guys through the system. He'll be fine. It's the guys that need legitimate help with their games to make the NHL that seem to be the ones really struggling in Hartford. I think it's worth it for Kravtsov. I haven't counted but I don't think it's like Lias where he has played like 90 games or whatever. He should still have the legs for it.
