It’s a good stylistic comparison, though I don’t think Kravtsov is as good of a skater.

Kravtsov doesn't look fast but he is. His stride is long, which changes the way it looks, but he does have the wheels to outskate his opponents. I think it will look different in the NHL because of the different style. European hockey is more fluid, more "harmonious" and east-west rather than north-south.

Not saying Kravtsov is Kreider-level fast, but he certainly moves well on the ice.

I wasn’t implying criticism. Kravtsov skates fine... better than fine. I just think Forsberg is on another level.

I agree he doesn’t have quick strides but his skating is actually fantastic. His edgework is something.

Craig Button said he reminded him of the real deal, James Neal. Anybody else see it?
Nope, Craig Button is a clown. Neal is about as one dimensional as it gets. Incredible shot, that’s about it. Kravstov’s hands and playmaking ability obliterates Neal’s, while his shot doesn’t really compare.

Wasn't that a common comparison at the time of the draft?

I can see Kravstov having a 40 point rookie season. Chytil is on pace for about 25-30 and I think Kravtsov is a bit more NHL ready than he was

He'll need to work ok his strength and conditioning a bitbit the summer to pull it off though

He doesn’t have Bure’s speed or goal-scoring ability. He’s more of a playmaker. He’s very creative.
Yeah. Bure was quite a different animal. Speed and goal scoring is one thing. But he also had a rocket of a shot and was not intimidated by anyone. I remember when he flew off his legs and gave Churla his first concussion.

Remember being at Bure's first game as a Ranger at MSG. Place was electric. If I remember correctly he skated around 3 defenders in OT and scored the game winner. Crazy to think he was nearly done at that point.

Now Carp is saying that signing and playing him would make him expansion draft eligible.

He also said “no way” do the Rangers want to burn a year off his ELC.

So take from that what you will. I question whether Carp actually knows the deal with the expansion thing.

To this day, I can remember how nervous Bure made me feel every single time he was on the ice in 1994.

A very limited number of players have ever made me feel that way, and there are lot of Hall of Fame players who are not on that list. That's how different Bure was.

Agreed with both feelings. There have not been that many players in the NHL since I have started watching that literally gave you the feeling that any second a goal can be scored.

And the feeling that if Bure was vexed, you were nearly helpless to stop him.

Carp's scenario directly contradicts what McKenzie said last year regarding Mittelstadt. That tweet, combined with the rules stated in the CBA make article 13.4 the only applicable rule to determine pro-years counting towards expansion draft protection or exemption

Lindros was another one thru the 2nd half of the 90s that gave teenage me a panic attack when he was on the ice..... In 97 it felt like he owned us
