So for anyone watching Nils, is he top 4 quality? I see he's in good company regarding points for under 18 year olds, which is cool and all. Do we think he can translate to NHL?

Yes, and I'd keep him on the same schedule we did with Brady Skjei, and that would put him in Hartford At 20 or 21 years old then hopefully move to the big club year or two after that.

Nils had to leave the game today due to injury, hopefully nothing serious, but he went hard into the boards...

I think they might keep him out for the remainder of the game. They play the worst team in the league, and have not much to play for, really

Nils Lundkvist out for the remainder of the season, will hopefully be back when the playoff starts.

Do you have a source?
Quote from the local news
"Now Luleå's sports director Stefan "Skuggan" Nilsson tells about the situation:
- As it looks now, it is a ligament injury in the ankle and he will not be able to play anything more in the regular series.
We will receive additional information at the end of the week, ”he says.
The hope is that he is back when the playoffs start?
- Yes, we hope."

Thanks for the info. Bummer.

Damn, ligament inuries are the worst....

I broke my fibula and tore the ligament in my leg a little over 6 months ago. Everything is healed (after a plate, a pin, 6 screws and a ton of PT) but I'm still trying to stretch and walk the way I used to. Not an easy injury. The swelling in the ankle will take up to a year....

Really bad news if it's a tear....

Well, based on the fact that he should be ready for the playoffs, I’m guessing it’s a sprain rather than a tear. At least I hope that’s the case.

Yeah, I mean a sprained ankle is literally a ligament injury to your ankle. It can be days or weeks, depending on wear it is and how severe things got bent. So this could just be a simple ankle sprain. Or a bad one. But still, don't freak out over "ligament," because it could really not be anything remotely severe.

I saw him go down, exactly the KAndre play. But Nils went in more with the foot than the leg.

Great all our young dmen who are having standout years first K'Andre, now Nils who's slamming into the boards legs first next? Rykov?

Skuggan (the ‘Shadow’, greatest nickname in hockey, loved him when he played, center that couldn’t skate, scored like 3 goals and 45 assist in 50 games a season, always had a huuuge load of Swedish tobacco under his upper lip) sounded optimistic.
