Can't judge individuals just on rings. AB is 1st team All Pro the last 4 years and at least has a SB appearance.
I'm judging them on the fact that elite receivers are not important enough to winning to put up with the nonsense that many of them perpetrate.

The media really is a terrible thing. I came into this expecting to read about Eli but I just read a page and a half about Beckham. Don't get me wrong I don't support him last night. You can't voice your frustration with your teammates in the open like that. He was a sore loser immature brat last night and that doesn't help team morale, it only makes guys not want to play. But here we are discussing this guy's behavior instead of the terrible QB play because the FOX cameras and Joe and Troy found something controversial to talk about in a boring game.

Odell's behavior didn't lose that game. Eli being shellshocked in the pocket lost the game. He played like a rookie who wasn't ready last night. You can tell that the pass rush is in his head, and he's just looking to get rid of the ball as quick as possible. Worst part is they somehow got worse QB depth after last year. You put Lauletta in and you're gonna get the exact same thing as Eli. Not much they can do but just ride this season out and hope for another shot at a QB.

QB is a much more important position than WR. You don't need an elite WR to win in the NFL particularly when that player becomes a distraction.

That wasn't the point. I am pointing out guys who regularly get "heated" and/or go after coaches and/or their own teammates. Position is meaningless with regards to that.

And you're right. QB is much more important. Thus, our shitty quarterback is bringing the entire team down.

You can win with a mediocre QB provided the Oline is solid.

I'd take Tyrod Taylor with a great developing Oline over watching a 22 year old QB get sacked 70 times his rookie season ala David Carr.

Trade down, draft an entire Oline.

That's not all that Beckham does though. He's had the Norman fight, the pee like a dog celebration, the fights with the kicking net, the recent interview where he alluded to being unhappy in NY after the team paid him a boatload of money. The guy has a long history of acting like a jackass.

The Norman fight? Who cares? AJ Green fought Ramsey. Yet no one harps on that, anymore. The pee thing? Oh, boy. He had a dumb celebration. The only real stupid shit in that entire post is the net thing.

I fully support his ESPN interview. That actually fired the team up and finally got them playing with some passion. There appears to be more than a couple of players unhappy with Manning. It's also almost assuredly the case that this has been brewing behind closed doors with nothing done about it. When you have poor leadership from your ownership group, management group, and coaching group that fails to address an issue like that, it ends up coming out. I'd basically guarantee that is what happened. An utter failure by management and ownership to address an issue that was brewing behind closed doors.

I don’t know why everything has to be either/or...

Eli has been terrible and the entire organization is to blame for betting on him

AND

Odell’s behavior is completely out of line and underscores why giving him 95/65 M is completely outrageous...again the entire org is to blame for that

At this point I can’t help but look at Mara which is very disconcerting because that ain’t changing

This post is spot on.

For real. The Giants are bad, and going to lose a lot more games after this one. Is O'dell going to whine and pout every single week when they are losing? Giants should trade him to a team that has a QB, like the Jets :naughty:

Wtf I'm assuming geno trashed someone anonymously and wanted Carl to talk about it for him. But Carl's old man typos are making me think I'm missing more details.

Didn't have the tabler? Talent?

Obj does some VERY weird stuff that would draw unwanted assumptions and attention even if he was a backup. Hes flat out lost control of himself on the field numerous times in a manner that is exceptional and imo unacceptable. Coaches used to grab guys like that by the facemask, eviscerate them and tell them to put it into their performance instead of embarrassing themselves and the team.
The only thing that amplifies the attention he gets is how good he is, not his color.
See Robby Anderson for a great example of what happens to a black athlete that goes crazy and gets in massive trouble (the likes of which makes obj look like a model citizen) but isn't a top player. Or see sheldon Richardson going 100 mph in a residential with weed permeating his car and a kid in the back. It ain't the skin color that's drawing the media attention and I think we have many great comparisons to help determine that right here in NY

At the end of the day, it's all the same shit. People have biases. Two people can look at the same thing, and both use it to paint their narrative.

You don't like OBJ? You'll see these antics and call him selfish, or a diva, like the tweet says. You like OBJ? You'll see passion. A guy who cares about the team and wants to win.

At least wake up and realize what you're doing when you do it. Go Bulls.

The vast majority of those were not criticized for either player.

When Tom goes out on a cruise and no shows a PO game that same week, gets caught in a video with some very questionable things going on, punches a net and honks himself with it or stands by himself screaming we'll be able to compare. Toms also got a decade of play and multiple rings on odell

Dont get me wrong people have treated specific black athletes differently. It's not universal though and that video is not accurately showing very crucial things so it's not relevant to this discussion. I also feel like this was just a poor comparison bc the things odell stands out for the most, are not things tom has done. Odell is closer to TO than tom. The diff between tom and TO is one yells at a coach and stops at that. The other yells and then adds to it with an impromptu workout shirtless in his driveway or implies that Jeff Garcia is "a rat" as a stand in for gay. This exacerbates attention he gets later. Odell isn't that bad but hes closer to that than he is to tom

If you dont know how to form a good discussion go back into your exile
Me: A lot of you are biased and should check how that frames your narrative.
You: Continues to post biased narrative.
Me: Speechless

Let me know what kind of discourse you think you and I could have that would be productive, and I'm happy to oblige you. But I'm not going to discuss something with you that you've clearly made up your mind on. Right? How does that benefit us or the forum? It doesn't.

Oh I'd LOVE to know what my bias is and how you determine it's not yours. Like I said, if you're incapable of discussion and have to concoct reasons to help yourself feel like your specific analysis is unassailable then go back into exile.

You're biased because you have a clear predisposition against Odell. Everything he does, you're going to paint in a negative light. I like to think I'm not biased, but am also not afraid to admit that I'm happy to give Odell more leeway than you do because of what he does on the field. I'm fully aware of mine. You should wake up to yours.

If you can't, I'm happy to end this conversation and go back into my 'exile' like you say.

And you think I have this predisposition based onnnnnn?

Also you're utterly wrong in eveything else you said. Everything he does I paint negative? Wheres the evidence of that? You haven't gotten the foggiest clue what leeway I do or dont give anyone. But you assumed you knew. Why? I can imagine quite a few reasons. I think you're projecting previous discussions you've had onto me, for one. Other reasons are more personal to you and we aren't supposed to discuss the poster
