They used to show these awesome charts in game breaking down where throws went all season by field section. Deep(I think 20+ yards) left, deep middle, deep right. Same for within 20 yards. I'd love to see that for him

I dont think he has many throws deep over the middle. Maybe a lot of 5 yard stuff. Either way it's his overall accuracy I'm talking about. I think he had under 50% completed even with those 2 perfect sideline throws. Tbf two drops occurred so he'd have been at 50%.

He's missed wide open guys repeatedly. He's a rookie, I get why he missed. I'm just noting that he has been inaccurate and that those throws on Sunday went a long way to showing improvement
The stat I referred to was displayed early in the game. I tried to find it on google but probably have to go through the replay to find it.

Hope it says more than just "within the hashmarks, hes accurate" and gives us an idea of distance accuracy too. If half of his numbers are from the D giving him easy low yardage completions on 3rd and long for example then the stat would be misleading

They gave a chart with some stats (I think completion %, yards, TDs and Ints) split by location: inside the hashes, between the hashes and numbers and outside the numbers. I haven't seen it yet - maybe it was shown during the pregame?

The charts are online, too: Charts Passing | NFL Next Gen Stats

This was Darnold's from last week:

Didn't see it mentioned here today, but Ereck Flowers was officially waived by the Giants. No team even wanted to give up a 7th rounder for him lol

Yeah, these Next Gen Stats charts are fantastic. The entire Next Gen Stats site is great, to be honest.
I roll my eyes at the "next gen" moniker. They started using that stupid phrase when the latest gaming generation was pitching "next gen" everywhere. Every time I hear it, I see some out of touch executives demanding that their production staff all use the stupid term so the nfl can stay relevant to kids. Up until now, it was always just "oh look at the new stat charts. Cool".

I thought it looked like he made it at the time but I didn't see a clear replay. But it really didn't matter since they kicked the field goal from the same spot.
It does matter, though. Giving them the first allowed the Panthers to spike the ball, rather than it being 4th and inches, no timeouts, and bringing Gano out to set up and kick a FG all within 25 seconds.

EDIT - But I think this doesn't matter anyway since what I'm seeing is that somehow the booth did review it in the like ten seconds they had to do it, and determined it was a 1st. The most egregious play remains the Collins penalty, which I see the NFL has said was a bad call.

Cool. Put the players back on the field, then :P

Why would they, though? It would be a cheaper cap hit to pick him up after a cut.
You have to pre-empt all those desperate suitors who will be furiously vying for his seBWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA couldn't even finish that thought.

Good for him, he was blessed with the size and work ethic to at least make it to the bigs, made some millions. But he's a f***ing bum compared to other NFLers

The Collins call is up there with the most egregiously bad calls I have ever seen in my life, lol

It's impossible to play defense in the NFL. Collins is allowed to go for the ball in that situation. The contact was incidental.

Common sense dictates that these kinds of flags should be reviewable on the field. The parameters for what is and isn't a legal hit have become so specific. Many of these flags are in error because things happen so fast. Of course the refs are going to default to throwing the flag when they see a player get blown up, but there needs to be a mechanism to correct for when good hits get flagged by accident. The refs can pick a flag up after discussing it with the other officials, so why can't they consult video replay if they need to? Any reasonable ref would reverse the Collins flag upon review.

If they reversed the call there would be a 10 second run off but the Panthers would have had plenty of time to get the FG unit on the field.
